The end of the flare / panel paint era....
Day 2 was gettin' pretty tacky by the mid-80s and here is the evidence. But who are we kidding...I'd drive it!

Re: The end of the flare / panel paint era....
Deluxe interior with a bench seat has to be unusual? Did not decode trim tag to see if it was correct for the car.

Re: The end of the flare / panel paint era....
Yes bench seat is correct and it was originally Rallye Green.. Rare combo.

Re: The end of the flare / panel paint era....
I wouldn't change a thing.

Re: The end of the flare / panel paint era....
A lot of the flare stuff started with Motion. They flared everything, and they had great coverage in many of the car mags back in the day.Joel's style and design went way beyond the cars he built. JMHO

Re: The end of the flare / panel paint era....
Thank God the 70s are dead. I don't miss it. That era destroyed a lot of beautiful muscle cars..., but that's just my opinion which should only matter to me. If you like it, more power to ya...

Re: The end of the flare / panel paint era....
That, uh, style was going away by the late 80s when the ad says the car was built. Interesting car with drum brakes, 12 bolt and the interior. For 15K you could go over the body. I love Rally Green.
Used to be somebodies dream now just another car for sale. |
Re: The end of the flare / panel paint era....
I love it as-is, flares and all. With so many stock and resto-mods out there, I love seeing something different.

Dave -- if I would have known then what I know now there is no way in hell I would have flared the fenders on my old Yenko Deuce. Back then (mid 70's) there were no comm devices such a sYc that would "enlighten" a person (such as myself) as to the value and rarity of those muscle cars. IMSA was cool back then ...
