Should I trade my CTS-V for a Z28?

Looking for a little advice. I'm thinking of trading my cts-v wagon plus cash for a 2015 Z28. Any thoughts, questions concerns?
Thanks
Buddy

I would wait on the zl1 unless you want the Z for a track car

2011 black diamond editionCTS-V wagon. 27k miles, no winters, serviced at Cadillac always. Supercharger recall done. Just did 2 rear tires approx 100 miles ago. If it was a six speed, I would never sell it. I can send you some pictures if you want. Has the panoramic roof, Recaros and an awesome California Car Cover

My thought was to have one of every generation Z28. The V wagon is an awesome car to drive.

The 2015 Z is an awesome car. While it is designed for the track, I think its an awesome analog naturally aspirated weekend cruiser. I love its "raw" feel.

Re: Should I trade my CTS-V for a Z28?

Both are amazing performance cars. The Cadillac is a refined, posh performer. It handles far beyond the capabilities of most drivers. The Z28 has a hard edge, you can hear the wine of the 3.73 gears due to lack of sound insulation, you feel all the groves and imperfections in the road through the steering wheel and butt meter.

The Z28 Handles better than 90% of its drivers. Getting the most out of either of these cars on a road course will require a very high degree of experience and competency.

The Z28 also has a more muscular exhaust note from idle to redine. You feel like your going fast in the Z28, not so much in the CTSV. The V surprises you as to how fast you are moving.

Both cars are easily upgradable in the performance department. The NicKey Stage II LSA option yields 850 hp and our Stage III Z28 naturally aspirated option is at 700hp.

One thing is for certain, I wouldn't leave either of them stock......GM left too much room for improvement.

Here is a CTS-V we are just finishing up. Pump gas, no meth. Similar set up as our Stage II ZL1s

Re: Should I trade my CTS-V for a Z28?

Stefano, the only thing I will say about modifying my car, is that every dealer that I inquired about trading my V for a Z has asked if my car was stock. Makes me think modifying would hurt resale.

Re: Should I trade my CTS-V for a Z28?

The market for modified late model cars is generally much smaller than it is for stock cars. Most dealers can't work on high HP modded cars and most of these builds are not emissions legal. Not all Performance shops use the same quality of parts and have technicians with the same skill set! The list goes on.......... I wouldn't expect most dealers to have much interest in a modified car.

So modding it to trade it in down the road might not be your best bet.

But if you want to experience 850hp of Cadillac fun, you are not likely to find it at your local dealership.

Re: Should I trade my CTS-V for a Z28?

Well, I pulled the trigger and traded the Vagon. I dealt with Jonathan Davis, the owner of Davis Auto sports in Richmond Virginia. What a great guy to deal with, a real straight shooter. He had a 2015 white Z/28 with AC, 94 original miles. He didn't even mind if I drove the V wagon down to him. Got home last night after getting stuck in rush hour in DC and Baltimore. While test driving it, I made sure it broke 100 miles, and told him the price went down, it had over 100 miles. Seven hours of driving, and 365 miles, and I was beat. So now my car is used with 465 miles on it. Now I have to change my signature.

Only limiting factor would be the budget. What do you want it to do?
