7,129 mile 68 SS350 4speed

Well, I've been bitten again and as a result I now own another car, like I need another one. But here is what I bought. I'll post the initial pictures I have with some better pictures eventually, right now I'm just trying to wrap my hands around it. Jerry MacNeish has personally advised me that it is one of if not the best unrestored Camaro's he has ever inspected. I know the brake hoses and battery have been changed. It's butternut yellow, black vinyl hardtop, 4speed. Still has the original door protectors used at the factory for shipment, protect-o-plate, registrations and owner history to day one. I'm just a sucker for these original unrestored cars. Original paint, exhaust, mufflers, clamps, red line tires and it drives spectacular like a new car. I know you want pictures, it may be a few days before I get better ones to you because frankly I'm not going to be home near its climate controlled storage for ten days.

I know very little about Camaro's, do believe the rally wheels are added based on notes in the file on the car.

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the Camaro owners club. There's nothing like an unmolested survivor. How about bringing it to MCACN in November.

Another amazing 68.. Looks to be a very early build car too by the looks of the white on the trim tag and the black ash tray cover.. Love it.. We need more pics!!!

What was the condition for cars being equipped with this steering wheel?

My 68 RS/SS with dlx interior had the wheel, I had assumed it was part of the deluxe interior group.

X2 Still have the original for the green car when he (father) pulled it off in favor of the walnut. Rare to see them not cracked.

Re: 7,129 mile 68 SS350 4speed

Even though I own a '69, I REALLY like the '68 Camaro's styling. There are many people who consider '68s to be the "odd man out", but I'm not one of them. In my opinion, the designers "fine tuned" what was on the '67s. The grill doesn't just "end" at the inset lights, the side windows (IMO) look better without the 1/4 vent glass, and the tail lights have equal sides with the center divider. I also like the interior changes.....door panels extend to the inside belt line, console refinement, etc.
I'm certainly not knocking the '67 models as they have a special place in automotive history and the specialty models from '67 are some of the most coveted. I just feel the entire 1968 Camaro lineup deserves a little more respect than it currently receives.
Congrats on the purchase of one fine specimen!!!

That 68 SS is spectacular!! Reminds me of a 68 my neighbor bought after returning from Nam.
After reading this post I go downstairs and turn on "Whats my car worth" and there you are with a 67 Vette 427 car in Black that you were selling at Auction.

I am at a point in my life where I really like my career. I get to play with these cars every day, get to handle some really spectacular cars for clients and every now and then buy one just because I can. Kind a cool, never thought in my wildest dreams that I would still be playing with cars. i'll be back with the 68 Camaro next week and get some more pictures posted. Feeling is mutual, once I decided to bring the car to the event I kind of went dark, felt like it was best to take the car and let the guys doing the vintage type certifications have their day with the car. I Understand the NCRS Bowtie program for NCRS having been in on the ground floor as it was developed and orchestrating it for seventeen years before stepping down, but Steel cars are just different. It's coming to the show wiped off and dusted from the condition I received it in. See you guys in about seven days..
