Anyone know this supposed L89 Camaro convert ?
|
Re: Anyone know this supposed L89 Camaro convert ?
No pic of the trim tag. Be interesting to see if it has interior code 729.

Re: Anyone know this supposed L89 Camaro convert ?
Why does the interior put up a red flag?

Re: Anyone know this supposed L89 Camaro convert ?
The only 69 Camaro conv that came with houndstooth was the pace car

Re: Anyone know this supposed L89 Camaro convert ?
You mean Houndstooth was not an RPO for "regular" Camaro ragtops?
Wow, didn't know that! |

Wow, didn't know that! </div></div> Yes it wasn't durable enough to be used in a convert (fading and staining). I was called to inspect the car about 2 years ago. I had the potential buyer send me pics of trim tag and stampings. I told him I rather not waste my time or his money and told him to stay away. It was for sale at a exotic car dealer in Nassau County Long Island. I'm pretty sure its the same convert with houndstooth interior. |

Wow, didn't know that! </div></div> Somewhere out there you can find the order sheets and the boxes to check for houndstooth are xed out. |

I saw it during an NCRS event and my comments were identical at the time. Interesting how it is not listed in the "sold" section of their website? Dan |

The Camaro Bible way back when. You can see how you could not check the box for houndstooth in a convert.https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-img_2572.jpg

Re: Anyone know this supposed L89 Camaro convert ?
That must be an early order sheet w/o 714 or 720 trim. Sure was a good decision to not offer houndstooth in converts though. Seats usually look pretty sad in survivor Pace Cars.

Re: Anyone know this supposed L89 Camaro convert ?
Just another reason to consider how rare the Pace Cars are. So many options on Pace Cars that were out of the norm like houndstooth and the Z28 stripes.

Re: Anyone know this supposed L89 Camaro convert ?
If an L89 doesn't have factory paper be very very cautious.
Even if it does seek out someone very knowledgeable about solid lifter cars before pulling the trigger. Bodybroadcasts are one of the best ways as few people know the codes on a body broadcast for an L89... Mr Shauger knows them and we have spoken about them in the past. |
