Gold moroso's
Hey guys,
i'm after a set of gold Moroso valves covers for my BBC. Which year they'd been discontinued? How much a good clean set go for these days? Found a near new set, they've been bolted to the engine then taken off, 2-3 minor scratches around the breather hole. He does not have the box. How much should I pay ? They are hard to find here in Quebec and even more in good shape (winter, salt, etc) Thanks for the infos and sorry for my frenchy english. Yann |
Re: Gold moroso's
You could always have some anodized. Take some chrome ones to a shop that does it.

Man, those things were everywhere in the mid-80s. I recall they had blue ones too.

Be patient and don't pay too much for them. I see em everywhere for sale. $50-125 is about right for a mint set.

Re: Gold moroso's
Thank guys, he want 160$ shipped (shipping cost is 70$ to Canada)
They are brand new, only mounted once, I think it's a fair deal. Dont want to deal with paint/anodizing shops |
Re: Gold moroso's
The gold ones are aluminum , and seems to me started leaking after removeing a few times , I had a few sets & painted them black ....

Yep -- pretty flimsy and they leak. Bought a set and put them on a BBC (street driven) and took them off after about a month ... trick for competition, but not an everyday car ... Just sayin' TAZ |

I've ran aluminum moroso's on the street for over 30 years if installed properly no leaks at all! Just saying

Sometimes ya' just have to be lucky -- I stand by what I said ... they are made super thin and designed for comp. Short trips on the street here and there may work fine. Even used Moroso's reinforcements with top of the line gaskets, nick-um-pucky, glue, Hi-Tack, etc. and they still leaked. TAZ |
