Love to bid on that green 70 LT1 Vette - how would I go about doing that? I cannot attend the auction personally unfortunately.

Contact them and ask if they participate in proxibid.

Be warned though; I have used proxibid and the bids don't always get submitted. Still free unless you win something. Don't remember the amount of the fees, but seems like it was very reasonable. Of course, that is on smaller ticket items.

You may be able to pre-register, and bid by phone.

No children.
No nieces or nephews.
Even my god children are not interested in anything car related.

Saw an ad in a local trader paper that says Thursday the 23rd will be a preview day for this auction (no doubt Friday the 24th also). They also listed the address for the auction as being 61692 CR7, Elkhart In, 46517. Now you can plan your route using your GPS enabled windshield mounted thing-a-ma-jig. I don't want to be responsible for anyone that gets lost, so use that information at your own discretion.

for a Green non-running project? That would seem to me to be a little rich....but a 4-speed numbers match convertible with optional hardtop rings a lot of bells for some people (including me)...other Vettes there:

1963 4-spd with 327 (gold) = $25,250
1963 4-spd with 327 & hardtop (teal) = $35,000
1970 LTI 4-spd with 350 (silver) = $14,000

I went over Friday for a "preview day" look since I wanted to know if it was worth going back for the auction. Since I'm more into parts than whole cars, I would class everything there as a parts car or a project car in need of some serious money spent on parts and labor. Pretty much none of the nearly 40 cars were runners, and would have needed to be winched onto a trailer even to get them home.

1963 4-spd with 327 Corvette (gold) = $25,250 ~ Engine and 4 speed BW trans and clutch parts separated and on a pallet behind the car. Engine was said to have been freshly rebuilt and never reinstalled in the car. No carburetor. Did have air cleaner though.

1963 4-spd with 327 & hardtop Corvette (teal) = $35,000 ~ Said to have been an original FI car, but missing all the FI parts and distributor. Soft top (more like bows only) was completely rotted away and laying behind car. More of a parts car than a project (but that's only my opinion) ymmv.

1970 LTI 4-spd with 350 Corvette (silver) = $14,000 ~ More of the same. Intake (110) and many other basic parts on pallet behind car. No carburetor or air cleaner.

There were probably 30 more Mopar cars and trucks. One big block six pack Duster, one small block Duster, one big block late 60's Barracuda, one early 70's Valiant 6 cylinder car, and a crap load of riding mowers aka garden tractors. There had to be 10 or more farm wagons loaded with various car parts and other junk (mostly Mopar and various knick knacks) that should have gone across the scale at a scrap yard, but that is the kind of stuff that auctions thrive on I guess. All in all, I only saw three (3) items on those trailers that I would have bid on. Make that four (4) if you want to include the complete set of Western Wheel reproduction Corvette knock offs that no doubt had a higher opening bid than I would have paid if they had cherry in unopened boxes. At least I didn't have to get up early and stand around in the hot sun all Saturday just to be disappointed.
