HO Yenko Chevelle
Does anyone know of a Hugger Orange 69 Yenko Chevelle in or around Franklin, PA? I passed one today, going the other way on 417, 5 miles out of Franklin, but, it had the black striping and black vinyl top and badging. Real? Clone?

Re: HO Yenko Chevelle
I live in Franklin and I only saw it once last summer driving by the house. I have not seen it at any shows around the area. I will keep an eye out for it this holiday weekend. Highly unlikely that it is real......

Re: HO Yenko Chevelle
Didn't Chip Miller have one similar to described?
Does his son still have the car? |
Re: HO Yenko Chevelle
One was featured on a Mecum Auction a couple of weeks back. It was to be coming up soon at a Mecum Auction this year. It was said to be one of one because HO was not a std. color for Chevelles in '69.
Hmm maybe it was a COPO not a Yenko? |
Re: HO Yenko Chevelle
There are at least two almost identical HO COPO Yenko Chevelles, black VT, black interior, AT, a member here Mark Hassett has one and George Lyons has or had one..... I think he sold it?
We got to check out Marks Orange Yenko a few years ago at NOCC:-) Ryan |
Re: HO Yenko Chevelle
George's Yenko Chevelle was sold at Mecum Indy in 2008.
I agree, what you saw was most likely a clone.....there are a half dozen clones in every large city of America. Dan |
Re: HO Yenko Chevelle
I kinda figured it would be a clone. Thanks for the replys guys!

Re: HO Yenko Chevelle
NM I was thinking of George Lyon's car... why did I think Chip Miller?

Re: HO Yenko Chevelle
From Franklin! I live in Knox. As for the car I haven't seen it that I'm aware of. One I have come to mind had white stripes but was a clone.

Re: HO Yenko Chevelle
From Knox huh? I live in Butler. Last year I surveyed a towing company (I think) around that area that has a warehouse full of Mopars, including winged cars. Are you familiar?

The A12 RR and 74 Challenger are mine. The 70 RR's are my brothers'. We share the others that were my fathers'. They are our beer and cigarette money - didn't have money to spend on beer & cigarettes so we spent it on our cars. Most all were bought in the 80's. My 74 Challenger was bought as a graduation gift to myself in '84 for $3500.00 and my A12 in 4/87 for $3900.00. THOSE were the days! |
Re: HO Yenko Chevelle

Re: HO Yenko Chevelle
Did we go for a ride in the A12 that day I came up there?

Not that I remember. Depending on when it was it may have been in my off property storage. |
Re: HO Yenko Chevelle
Hmmm........I rode in something that day. I am pretty sure it was a 68RR and it was gray......ah well. Maybe I will get the notice to come survey you guys again.
