It pretty much involved a propane torch, a couple of scrapers, a lot of Purple stuff and then some 3M grease remover (that stuff works great, but if you use it, make sure you have adequate ventilation!). http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/a...r%20during.jpg http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/a...during%202.jpg Here's the "after" with the update subframe installed. I painted the bottom side in low gloss black. I think it came out nicely. http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/a...er%20After.jpg </div></div> |

Re: Sleeper Chassis Project
Car looks great. I'm surprised how great the original paint looks, considering the car didn't look to have been stored in a friendly environment.

Re: Sleeper Chassis Project
Have you actually done any measuring to see if a carbed LS will fit under a stock Nova hood?
I can tell you a dual plane Gm manifold, on a aluminum Ls3 ,mounted as low as possible( aftermarket shallow front sump area almost touching frame) , using custom engine mounts, along with a L88 drop base air cleaner just barely fit under hood. There was zero room for any sort of spacer and you needed to run a very short air filter element as well Amazingly, a BB Chevy in the same chassis, a RPM Airgap, with a 1/2 Nos plate and drop base filter, fits with room to spare! Good luck |

Flat hoods RULE!!
