1970 Plymouth Sattelite 1 owner SURVIVOR

1970 sattelite 2 dr hardtop SURVIVOR with only 41,000 original miles! Factory Vitamin C orange! This car is flat out the best survivor car I've come across in quite awhile. This is a true 100% unrestored well kept car that is so clean I don't believe it's ever been dirty! It's that nice.
A true 1 owner always garage kept car that was meticulously cared for. I still can't believe how nice this car is and it drives as well as it did off the showroom floor. 318 V8,automatic trans, power steering, full wheel covers, deluxe interior and 3 spoke woodgrain steering wheel are the only options. Radio delete. ORIGINAL paint, chrome, top, interior, spare tire never used. 1970 is the best year for this body style and it looks like a GTX.The best part is its a factory High Impact color of Vitamin C orange with a deluxe tu-tone brownish/gold interior and a black vinyl top. Just uncovered after a long slumber. Last pa inspection was 1998.
To complete the trifecta it has every stitch of dealer paperwork along with receipts of all inspections and work done to it. Body is straight as a pin and completely rust free. Sold Brand new at Reedman Chevrolet which I just found out also sold new plymouth and dodge cars. Like I said it only has 41,000 miles but could pass for alot less. This is the real deal
I know there's some members here that appreciate survivor cars like me and this car needs to go in someone's collection. I had it out all day yesterday and everybody kept asking me how long ago I had it restored. I told them it was never restored and let's just say they they thought this guy is a liar. OH WELL. I will try to post pictures in a little but call me @ 267-246-6903 if you want them emailed to you. 27,500 is the price.

Can't wait for those photos. My other Gramma's car was a 1971 Satellite with a 318 2bbl, 727 torqueflite and 3.23 open rear. In "Gramma Green" of course. That was THE SCARIEST car I ever drove - stupid fast and would smoke the left rear tire to Kingdom come (sorry Gramma). Of course it was also the first car I got into an accident with when I ran over my neighbor's mailbox on my way to school one morning. Those 70-71 318s were rated at 230 horse but boy do they run strong!

These cars are so light because they are unibody cars. Much lighter than a body-on-frame car like a Chevelle/Cutlass?Tempest/Skylark. As Lotus's Colin Chapman said, lighter weight means you can get away with less horsepower and still have a very fast car.

Great car Donnie!

The grease crayon stock number on the driver's door is a "Reedman' accent...the gold L78 Nova had the same thing. I sent some of the photos to a friend who is a Syracuse fan....everything they own is orange...this would be perfect.

I should have numbers by color for this car.

Re: 1970 Plymouth Sattelite 1 owner SURVIVOR

Sorry, only have Sport Satellite hardtop numbers - 0.6% were EK2. No saying a Satellite has equal rarity . . . oh, wait, I DO have the numbers:

0.4% of Satellite hardtop V-8s were EK2

So we need to look up the US production for this model (24,803) and multiply the two, and we arrive at 99, give or take a few.

It may be a good idea to confirm the US production stats for this model because I'm merely going by a reproduction of Chrysler docs.

Re: 1970 Plymouth Sattelite 1 owner SURVIVOR

Thanks for looking that up. I kinda figured it was a rare color on this car. I've never seen another and another cool factor is that the original owner took delivery in late 71 as it sat on Reedmans lot for over a year. I guess back then it was not a desirable color combo for a sattelite buyer. You usually only see a superbird in a High Impact color. This is definitely a special car in its own right.

Holy crap it still had the REEDMAN emblem on it ... I havent seen that in years

Re: 1970 Plymouth Sattelite 1 owner SURVIVOR

I'd make one change: Factory Chrome Msgnum 500s or Keystone Classics with the appropriate black wall tires. I'm not usually a fan of Keystones, but I think the black on either of those two wheels and the black vinyl top would complement each other.
What a nice car!

Re: 1970 Plymouth Sattelite 1 owner SURVIVOR

Not when you saw it in person Dave. I thought the same thing and then as I kept looking at it I told myself this car has t stay virgin. The hubcaps were mint. I wanted to put double whitewalls on it like the original spare tire. That's all it needed. It's on its way to a museum now where it belongs.

Re: 1970 Plymouth Sattelite 1 owner SURVIVOR

What a beauty Don! I personally owned an original 33k mile 1968 383 4 speed Road Runner and a 1970 383 4 speed Road Runner both sold new at Reedman. The 1970 was purchased from a family friend who bought it new! Best of luck with the sale! That has to be a one of a handful car with that color combination!!!
