Re: Anyone into old Harleys?
Enrico, the original owner of my 1973 SD455 is selling his original owner Harley on ebay at the moment in case anyone is interested. He's a great guy. Nothing like an octogenarian Harley rider! (he's not getting out of bikes, just selling one of them).

Re: Anyone into old Harleys?
My only Harley experience was in my younger days hanging/working with a vintage racer, Pat Conroy who exposed me to probably a thousand bikes. The XR750 was so unique and stood out to me as the legit performance Harley. If I were to own a Harley, the XR's would be my preference.

Re: Anyone into old Harleys?
Not that old, but 82 for my Shovel head FXRS and Iron Head Sporty. 93 for my FXLR. I took the iron head down to the frame and re-built/re-painted and chromed everything. The original paint was nearly perfect. The FXLR I built from the frame up for screwing around on. Embarrassed all my buddies with newer bikes that had work done. I didn't do anything too crazy. Bored, heads, Andrews EV35 cam, Thunder header, lowered, wider rear tire, raked at little with wide glide triple trees. I did the custom tank and all the paint. It took all the abuse and gave it back.

Speaking of original paint...the antique bike guys are even crazier about original paint than the muscle car guys! Here is a pic of mine Caseys69... |

Yep....well sort of... member of the Polaris family anyways .. not trying to hijack the thread... 2014 Indian, custom mixed Maroon and pale yellow. Re: Anyone into old Harleys?
Shaun, Love that Polaris bought Indian. Don't want to hijack the thread either, but those are some sweet bikes. I had a Vic Vegas and it was just sweet.

Re: Anyone into old Harleys?
I worked at Harley for a few years. You guys need to come on up to Milwaukee and see the H-D Museum.

Definitely on my list of things to do at some point. Now that we're in Michigan, we'll have to take a long weekend trip sometime. |

The silver 1990 in my pic is all original except the pipes (I have the originals) with just 6,200 miles on it. It cost me $20k us...

Re: Anyone into old Harleys?
Mark, I have just what you need to haul your kids with you when you ride the Pan. I have two 1940s model Goulding sidecars. Original, made for Harley here in Michigan. They need to be re-assembled though.
