Grand National Roadster Show - 2016

Just a quick post to say this year's show was great....as usual!! Didn't see who won the AMBR award but this would have been my pick........... http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...psgzsqvazd.jpg

The drab olive green car won. 32 with a small block and black convertible top. I didn't think it was anything special. Looked like an average deuce roadster.

That's the one. Clean & simple. Kinda Doane Spencer-ish.

Yes that's the one. I mean it is a nice car, but I don't think its the AMBR. The peddle cars were slick.

Built by Rick Dore for James Hetfield of Metallica 34 Packard is nice.

My wife took tons of photos of this car. Usually it's me that over does it, but she was flat out in love with this one and the "black pearl" that Dore built for Hetfield either last year or the year before.

I should have practiced my electric guitar more as a kid...

Hetfield has some serious cars. He's got that lavender 53 skylark, A root beer colored Auburn boat tail speedster, This car, the black pearl and god knows what else. Not to mention he's part of one of the cooler car clubs The Beatniks

Rick Dore is an artist.

The most amazing thing about the winning car is that they drove it 10,000 miles then detailed it a bit before entering it in the show! That's incredible to me.

OK ... that is cool ... but there were other contenders that should have won AMBR

Mind numbing simplicity in this car! OUTSTANDING.

Take nothing away from the Rick Dore creation; that's an undeniable, incredible piece of art, ....... but the Deuce roadster is screaming to fly down the road.

Agree -- "Art" cars are NOT street rods but rather something that is totally a carpet car ... TAZ
