Looks like a '80's style ad

Re: Ever see this Z/28 ad?

No, it's a 60s ad. I think I have it here in one of my magazines.

On the right edge of the ad it's dated Oct 1968. I never saw this ad before....

It's actually pretty clever - and the fact that Chevy let them release it without any pic of the car is quite something.

In fact Des -- you can see a reflection of a Blue Oval on his eye ... LOL

Not unheard of in terms of one of the sister divisions...

Yes, exactly Keith - a bit of a ground-breaker at the time.

Great text in that Pontiac ad!

Re: Ever see this Z/28 ad?

I'm a little biased, but Pontiac consistently had the best ads of the bunch - certainly not VW ads, but good for advertising in general.

Re: Ever see this Z/28 ad?

I've posted this before ...

Back in the 60s there was a Mr Norms commercial played on WLS in Chicago -- it was the same theme as the Superman "leadin" ... here it is (the best I can remember)

Faster than a 440 Magnum, more powerful than a street Hemi, can leap wide intersections at a single bound. What described as a small subcompact at a large Chicago dealer fights a never ending battle for street, strip and the interstate … Mr Norms Grand Spalding Dodge.

Commercial played on WLS – talking about Mr Norms 440 powered GSS Dart ..

Re: Ever see this Z/28 ad?

I prob should explain that I used to work in advertising, and Des still does, hence the opinions of these ads.

Re: Ever see this Z/28 ad?

the Z/28 had a giant super hero ad.
It was called "Captain Nice" AKA Mark Donohue

Mark sold a lot of 1969 Z/28s, like the way Burt Reynolds sold Trans Am Firebirds

Re: Ever see this Z/28 ad?

I always liked this advertising slogan...

Camaro Z/28
Very Even Tempered.
Mean All The Time.
