LS6 convert clone heads up
I was given information by someone that has known this car and asked me to post.
http://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/...ble/1095445674 1. The car started out as a 307, column shift, convertible. 2. This 1970 Chevelle was owned by a professional hockey. He purchased it when he was playing for the Chicago Blackhawks. 3. He had someone in the Chicago area clone it up as SS big block car and install a GM 502 CI crate engine and rebuild/install a Turbo 400 transmission. 4. Although he could easily afford a LS6 Chevelle convertible, he admitted publically he preferred to build a clone, with no intention of deceiving anybody. 5. When the hockey player imported into Ontario Canada was a running, driving 1970 Chevelle with the 502. His Chevelle was sold in 2013. Included in the Chevelle sale was a unstamped, non VIN numbered 454 LS6 that he had previously purchased. The cars original quarters were getting "soft" at the bottom, behind the wheel wells. All the new owner was going to be buying was a cloned 1970 big block Chevelle with a 502, an unstamped LS6 engine and some small parts. Now the car has resurfaced in Mossley Ontario, Canada, not as a 1970 Chevelle cloned big block 502 SS, but as a "one of 23???? triple black convertible LS6 Chevelle" with not a stitch of paperwork for a tidy sum of $200,000. I trust the information that was given me but as always if someone is interested they should do their own due diligence. |
Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
Well, it was classed 1A by judges, so....

Maybe one of 23 clones they've built? Ontario Plate 3H5252 RIP Bob Probert. ~ Pete |
Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
Yes thx Charlie for the info

Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
OK guys, since there is info to back-up this, I think everyone should click on the link. In the right hand upper corner there is a flag to report this add. I think people should report this as a scam or "other" just to make kijiji aware of the info being not correct.
But also, this "seller" may NOT know of the history and therefore might have a case aas well for whoever sold it to him...... |
Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
Just flagged it.

Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
Does anyone know the VIN of this car?
|
Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
Yes it should be posted for future reference...

Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
The plate # as above and $20 Canadian gets the VIN and more @ any Ontario Vehicles location. ~ Pete |

Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
Since the VIN makes it the 3,345th Chevelle produced at the Baltimore plant in 1970, that should make it WAY too early to be a legit LS6 car.

Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
Too bad GM in the U.S. Didn't keep records like GM of Canada then we would have less of these Scooby Doo mystery machines:-)
I don't want to waste my 20 bucks, but in Ontario I can pay to buy the used car purchase package and get the owner ship history of this car back to when it crosses the border back as far as 1973. Ryan |

Ryan

Ryan, do you know if that type of ownership history search service is available in BC? - Wade |
Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
I have not heard of this anywhere but Ontario, and in my opinion it should only be available to the current owner of a car. Why should I be able to get that information?
I do not know either way about BC I would PM Chevellheart on here he is west of me. I did it one time but it felt wrong:-) I wouldn't make a very good scammer. Ryan |
Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
Boy, that is borderline illegal here in the states. I know in Maryland it is very hard to get any background information through our Motor Vehicle Administration. Depending on who you know at the MVA, or if you are a dealer, title searches have become tough to do/get.

Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
That seems more appropriate I assume this is a loop hole soon to be corrected.
But currently if I wrote down a VIN at a show I could purchase ownership history on the car. (Wierd) Ryan |

Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
I did get the full ownership history on my Canada delivered 69 Pace Car. It was last titled in Ontario, but the ownership history that they provided traced it all the way back to the original owner in Quebec. So the non-Ontario data was in the computer. It was sold new at Three Rivers Chevrolet.

Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
Thanks all. And this is interesting. I wonder if Ontario has records for cars that were never registered in Ontario?

Re: LS6 convert clone heads up
This is available in B.C. but only if you know the right people. Otherwise it goes by the privacy of information.
