1969 Camaro SS 396 Convertible
5 Attachment(s)
New Price $55,000 OBO
Bump for new price and pictures. I have further detailed the engine compartment beyond these pictures. Removed and painted the alternator bracket, installed new alternator fan and pulley, removed fan, water pump pulley and painted those. Looks good! _________________________ I am selling my OEM drivetrain, just painted, original interior 46K documented miles original Big Block 69 Camaro Convertible X-66 no style trim Big Block. This car is a L-35 turbo 400 automatic car with AM/FM, PS, PB, black deluxe interior, rear speaker, endura front bumper, OEM Rosewood steering wheel, original voltage regulator, distributor, carb, intake manifold, horn relay, fan, horns, brake booster.Correct exhaust manifolds, smog, Harrison radiator, master cylinder. I have a replacement booster on the car but the original goes with the car. The interior is absolutely original and in fantastic condition for being 46 years old. The carpet is not torn, slightly faded but all original. The original seat belts are in place, the original dash pad is in great condition. The door panels are perfect and look like NOS panels that just came off the shelf. All four windows roll up perfect. The front windshield is the one installed at Norwood. The radio works well including the fader. All gauges and accessories work well. All lights work as they should. This is an original 46K mile car that drives, stops as an original car should. The car drives fantastic. The rear gear is 3.07 positive traction. The car was just painted with a few areas in the outer wheel houses repaired. The lower driver door behind the door panel was repaired. Debris gathered and plugged the drain hole here and caused a small spot that was repaired. This area is not at the bottom of the door but about the size of a Silver dollar on the inside of the door, but repaired. The floors, trunk pan are OEM correct. The front fenders are GM replacement. See the GM stickers inside the fenders that I photographed when we the fenders were removed. The driver side inner fender is assembly line correct. I assume that the passenger side inner fender was not assembly line correct because there were no dust shield staples installed. However, this piece is a GM part. The lower quarters have been replaced, but the upper quarters are assembly line correct. The factory stamps are in place. The lower quarters are not lapped but butt welded to the uppers. The rear tail panel is assembly line correct see the stamp. The gas tank is OEM date code present. The gas tank and the underside of the car is undercoated and not restored all original. The convertible top is manual, old and in good shape but not new. However, shows well. The original jack, stand, hook and handle are in the trunk. SS wheels with new tires, and also original YJ Rally's, caps and trim rings go with the car. The original trim tag is on the car, as well as all the vin numbers. The rear bumper was re-plated, the original door handles re-plated, the original windshield header re-plated. This is a mid-December '68 car so the early seats, and kick panels are all in place. I forgot to mention that I pulled the PS pump and brackets off. Painted all of that and installed new PS hoses too. I will add more pics after the Panthers beat the Seahawks!!

Re: 1969 Camaro SS 396 Convertible
Eddie,
Not sure if you are asking me if the ride height is too low? I don't think it is? I just installed new Moog BB springs up front. Do you think it is too low? |
Re: 1969 Camaro SS 396 Convertible
"oem drivetrain" meaning not original to the car?
or do you mean that the drivetrain is all the correct, born with? |

Born with drive train/matching numbers. Engine, tranny, rear end, horn relay, voltage regulator, carb, distributor, intake manifold, heads. I put smog manifolds on the car. Had non smog on the car. All BB Camaros had smog so I put them on the car. The alternator is not correct, but all the supporting brackets are correct. The PS pump is original. The entire interior is original down to the carpet, seat belts etc. Original jack with the car. I have repainted the base plate.
This car has been owned by two different members of this site. One has offered to discuss the car with any one interested. I have not asked the other but I would guess he would be happy to discuss this car. It really is a nice car. It is very difficult to find original big block Camaro convertibles with their born with drive trains. |

I'm baffled why your vert hasn't been scooped right up. She's beautiful. It's just waiting for the right butt for the seat I guess. GLWS
