Dual Quads with factory air conditioning?

Working on some statistical data for a couple articles I've been asked to contribute to.

Is anyone aware of any big block CONVERTIBLES what left the factory with dual quads AND air conditioning?

Make/marque doesn't matter -- any production convertible made by any manufacturer.

To factor into my work, all that matters is that it was a factory-built convertible and left the assembly plant equipped with 2x4bbl and a/c.

No 426 hemis were available with A/C. Maybe the earlier 392, 354, 331, etc in the big Chryslers, Dodges and DeSotos back in the 1950's?

I would think that the only factory dual quad equipped vehicles that came with factory A/C would be Chrysler letter cars. I can't think of any other car that came with duals and A/C.

Check '56 and '57 Cadillac line. And mid to late fifties Hemi Chrysler Imperials....pretty sure you could get that combo with those. Between 1962-1971, no way.

Only Super Duty cars came with dual quads in the Pontiac. I don't think a/c was available

The dual quad 465 Wildcat was also available on full-size Buicks.

I know one SD Pontiac that was built with AC even though it wasn't available.

Yep Bruce. The hydraulic lifter tri-power 348s were available with A/C. But only with a TurboGlide or Powerglide. No 2x4s though.

As I recall, 56 and 57 Chevrolet 2x4's with a/c used different pods on the bat wing air cleaner than non a/c equipped 2x4's cars.

Prefacing this with my knowledge doesn't go back any older than '67, and sorry for delay in jumping back in -- had to go grab another vintage pinball machine today to add to the cave

I knew the 7.0L 'Hemi pony cars didn't offer factory AC.
In addition to the 426 'Hemi Mopars, the only make of car that I know of that came with a 7.0L engine topped with 2x4bbl from the factory was the '67 Shelby G.T. 500 (428 cu.in. Interceptor).

I vaguely remembered the Chrysler 300 letter cars and thought they might have had the A/C option. Reading between the lines of Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysl..._letter_series , it does appear these convertibles were offered with AC.

Regarding the '65 Buick Riveria GS - was this model offered in a convertible body style? Perhaps the Buick Wildcat with the "Super Wildcat" engine option -- if this engine could be added to a ragtop?

Same question for the mid 50's Cadillac - I know they made these with 'functional tops,' so I'm looking for a confirmation on whether there was a convertible with dual quads and A/C.

Thanks in advance for the continued help.

On the Chrysler letter cars. The early 60s you could get the cross ram with ac in convertibles. Seems to be just a handful. 63 there wasn't a convertible and 64 they brought it back but dual fours were an option.

61 300g with ac. Air was $510 option. I am thinking 15 or less had it.

Dual quads + A/C = lots of shiny objects under the hood = car porn.

Looking like this thread has run its course.

In a last effort for additional clarification, we have some 50's and 60's full-size cconvertibles with dual quads and AC.

Does anyone know of any convertible 'pony' cars with dual quads and air?

Correct,

Only the year Shelby that received dual quads atop the 428 big block (GT 500) was 1967, and only one of those was a convertible (and yes, it did have factory A/C also).

The '68 Ford-Shelby cars were all single 4bbl.

didn't the mid 60's GS (Skylark A bodies) come with dual flushers?

My dad had a red '57 Cadillac convertible with the "batwing" 2x4's and air conditioning (and a phone that filled half the trunk), and a white leather interior. He loved that car 'cuz a beer can just fit in the driver's ashtray.

----A lot of 65 Gran Sports have 425 dual quad conversions that have been done after the fact. None, to my knowledge, were ever delivered with dual quads. 65 Gran Sports are one of my favorite early muscle cars. Ive been looking for a very nice 65 4-speed (coupe or vert) for a long time and have come up empty. Still looking, although it would have to be very nice!......Bill S
