Re: Master cylinder sleeving?
Pm Kurt Burdick, I think everyone chimed in for him and he was happy with the chosen company.

I use them as....I also use Steve Gregori in CA. Plus they both have a great working relationship. Dan |
Re: Master cylinder sleeving?
I sent mine to Karps in California. http://www.karpspowerbrake.com/
He bored out the sleeve and installed a stainless steel sleeve with all new components. I also had them powder coat it Kurt https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...nnamed2_13.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-unnamed4.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...unnamed5_2.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...nnamed1_33.jpg |
Re: Master cylinder sleeving?
Kurt or Dan, please PM me the price you paid. I want to rebuild my original this winter. Repop is about 100 U.S, I assume this route would be more?
Also did they refinish the lid, seal, and the hold down straps. Ryan |

Re: Master cylinder sleeving?
What's the ball park figure on having a company rebuild master cylinder.
Does anyone offer a rebuild kit for the intermediate steering shaft. |
Re: Master cylinder sleeving?
I believe my M/S was about $275. That included a stainless steel sleeve, powder coating and shipping.....both ways.
It was an extra $40 to have it powder coated. |
Re: Master cylinder sleeving?
I've used Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes products on my Vettes ... always good work. Not sure if they work on other models ... here is their website. TAZ

Re: Master cylinder sleeving?
I have used Whitepost with good results. http://www.whitepost.com/
If it is a survivor piece that you don't want repainted, make sure you tell them when you first do the work order. They did a great job on my 1973 SD455's master cylinder and it came back looking just like I took it off. (other than it was no longer leaking out the back). The turnaround time was only a week or so, too. Here's what mine looked like before: https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...opics/539528/9 and after: https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...pics/539528/14 |

That's hit or miss Darren, but sometimes you get lucky and get a reman with an original casting. I used to deal with an auto parts store where the counter guy was good friends with the picker at the warehouse. He had him look for ones with the right casting numbers on them for me.
