1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
Is this car legit? I ask because, I am not familiar with it. I don't want to start a mudslinging but, it would be good to know about it before the auction. It's a great looking car!
Thanks for any info. Mark |

Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
Sounds like it could be John Hill's which I beleive is going up for auction at the next Mecum. If so, I understand it is real.

That's John's .... Nice stance.

Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
Of course, there's no way to know that it's the only black/red L89 built....

Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
I can't speak for the owner but it has been judged at MCACN and has three partial build sheets.
Sexy car, he is selling a 57-57 M22 COPO Chevelle as well. Ryan |
Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
Doesn't a member here own a black/red L89 that was featured in several mags back in the 90s? Or was that a black/black car?
|
Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
JM said it was the real deal before JH bought it at Barrett Jackson a couple years ago
|
Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
Would anyone want to offer a price estimate on the car, based on the current market?

Mark Hassett owns an 8800 mile Black/Black red D96 stripe L89 Chevelle. You are probably thinking of this one. I have just located the magazine it was featured in and will pick it up at MCACN. Ryan |
Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
Isn't this the same car that just sold for $68,200.00 @ Barrett-Jackson 2014 Scottsdale?

Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
If anyone has anything they would care to share on that L89, I would appreciate the info. I'm going to Indy so, I will have a chance to check it out. I would be interested to know about originality of the drivetrain.

Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle

Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
So is it a real car? I remember when it sold last year and thought that was a steal.
|
Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
Not that anyone needs me to say this, but that was a hell of a deal for the price.

Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
That is a stunning car ... the exact flavor I like my chevelles to be

Re: 1969 Black/Red L89 Chevelle
The quality of the frame off is amazing. All of the "little" stuff that was wrong was fixed by local AZ guys
