Uniroyal Tires

Apparently my 1970 Canadian built Chevelle left the factory with a set of Uniroyal tires. I have looked in the internet, but cannot seem to find them. Is this brand not reproduced?
TIA

Original owner son said he has a picture when the Chevelle was new and it had them. I'm waiting on a copy of once he scans it.

Luis a lot of Canadian built 70 Chevelle SS's came with the Uniroyal Tiger paws for some reason.
I had one from 1984 to 1997 which had a Uniroyal spare in the trunk which was never used along with photos of the car with original paint showing those tires.
Those are very difficult to find in good shape, Good luck.
Pictured is a friend of mines Oshawa built car with those tires.

My Lansing-built (but Canadian-sold) '71 442 came with the Tiger Paws originally. Here's the original spare in it's trunk.https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...inal_spare.jpg

Luis,
I bought a set of four of these which came off of a show car from Canada. They're not delivered yet but I'm guessing they might be Canadian with a maple leaf on them. Not sure until I get them. Few if any road miles on them. Just in and out of the trailer for major shows. I bought them for the mags so I'll be selling the tires.

Re: Uniroyal Tires

It's a matter of personal preference. Some people hate them but I like them. They're extremely hard to find with good chrome. Re-chroming is cost prohibitive with the aluminum centers and you have to worry about them being put back together concentrically. Soooo, perfect originals command a premium. I've known about these for over 15 years and I finally stepped up. He had them stored in his bedroom closet for over 20 years, fresh off the show car.

Sam, They might replace some on my '62 that have some chrome issues, or they could go on the other 409 car that's waiting to resurface. Not sure yet. I just knew I HAD to have them.

Here is a pic of one of the shock. Showing numbers and date.

I want to thank Rich Peters for going above and beyond in searching for this post. I would of never found it. Buddy you are the MAN. BTW the shocks have been restored. Unfortunately no luck with the Uniroyal Tiger Paws tires. Going with Firestone instead.

L79novaSS 03-21-2018 02:44 AM

My Canadian 67 Camaro came with D70 x 14 uniroyal tigerpaw redline tires. The GM of Canada documentation I received lists redline tires and the bill of sale shows that they were Uniroyal tigerpaws. I am looking for a nice original one for a spare. I would even consider another brand in the D70 x 14 size.

Burd 03-21-2018 02:58 AM

I've seen uniroyal glove box brochures. There's a lit guy I see every year, I gig through his nos lit. He's got early 70's stuff
