Toronto Indoor Car Show History
1 Attachment(s)
Motorama is a yet another new car show this weekend here in Toronto Canada.
I thought this photo was neat when It was posted it in there program. Brings back memories of the shows we local Toronto guys used to visit. Times are a changing. Went to the show yesterday and I was not pleased with the over representation of Modified cars-Hot-rods-Tuners etc... that dominated the show as I am more of a Stock Muscle car guy. For the $20 to get it in I gave it a thumbs down and I don't think I'll go back. What did you guys think of the show? MCACN is the show to go to for me. |
Re: Toronto Indoor Car Show History
Thanks for the heads up.
I was going to head down so that saves me the trip. I went to the show last weekend in Detroit at Cobo Hall and it was not bad. Like you, the ONLY real show to go to is the the Muscle Car Show in Chicago. It is the best! Paul |
Re: Toronto Indoor Car Show History
gave up on those shows back in the late '80s, far too many fluffed up, chromed up 'show cars' for my liking

Re: Toronto Indoor Car Show History
Attended today and met a fellow sYc guy Al Corporon AlsV8vair. We had a great time!
I don't compare car shows in Canada to shows in the US, I just enjoy them especially all the Tuners:-( Al and I live fairly close so it was really nice to put a face to a name, always awesome to meet car guys in person!! (In the middle) My father in law came with me, he was hoping to meet Courtney Hansen:-) (on the left) Ryan https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2942-image.jpg |
Re: Toronto Indoor Car Show History
Great meeting you and your family Ryan. Good show but the people make it great.
I did not look in the program. That is interesting. I believe my father in law was involved in the show in 1960. One of his old mates car was at the show today from 1960. It was a site to see. |

NP.
I love to share, and happy to support a Canadian show!!! But the personal invitation by Courtney Hanson really was over the top:-) It was right on my Facebook.... |
Re: Toronto Indoor Car Show History
I'm with you Danny.
The last time I was there as a spectator was three years ago and I was disappointed then. Back in the mid 1990's I displayed my 64 Goat and a couple of years later I displayed my 69 Goat. Both as part of the Ontario GTO Club. The overall show and the types of cars at that time were much different and very enjoyable. |
Re: Toronto Indoor Car Show History
Past cars I have owned has been apart of every show posted on 4 of those tomb stones except for the short lived Megaspeed and this current inaugural Motorama. Your right Don, the shows of yesterday were much better.
All though Ryan shows some great photos and Thank You for sharing those Ryan. A lot of those Custom cars are not my cup of tea as it is what I see a lot of anyways when I visit local cruise ins and yearly shows in the summer. I like the A12 Bee and Shelby car though I really wonder how long this Motorama will last? I won't go back next year but I wish them good luck. |
Re: Toronto Indoor Car Show History
I think indoor shows are an endangered species.Cost a ton of money to produce.....insurance,security,staff,paid personalities, venue rental,etc....And you can see a lot of the cars that are shown at outdoor shows. So why pay $20.00 to get in and $9.00 for parking? And to show your car cost a bunch also....entry fee, hydro rental, hotel and food if you are from out of town and the cost to trailer your car to the show.It can be a very expensive weekend.
