Sorry we only stayed fifteen minutes. Since Holly wasn't feeling good...we decided to leave.
Good thing that we did...she spiked a fever. We are spending at least the night at Mayo Hospital. |

Don't know if I have ever seen an early Fire Chicken with that color green -- pretty car. I will wait for one of those SMART? cars to come up for sale. Thinking about hanging a mower deck under it and cut the grass in A/C comfort.

Update on Holly.
We are waiting on the blood cultures to come back...and they are going to do a short dialysis...to introduce some of the dialyzing liquid into the peritoneal cavity. They will let it sit in the cavity for about an hour... And then culture what is coming out...to rule out an infection in the cavity inside her body. Once we get the results from this...They will decide what the plan of action is for the rest of today. Waiting for the dialysis to get here so we can get it started... Not going home for at least another day. |

So the update for today for Holly...we haven't had a fever, except for early this am. Also, nothing has grown in the blood cultures that were taken. Also, nothing grew from the peritoneal fluid that was taken. They are pretty sure that it has remained a topical staph infection at the peritoneal port site and has not gone inside the belly area. We have been moved to the 4th floor (cardiac) due to her being a heart transplant. The heart transplant docs will take "lead" from here on...in her care. More updates tomorrow... |

Thanks...update for tonight...
We are still in the hospital... On the cardiac floor. All the docs came in today, and none of the cultures that they took have grown anything. The doctor who installed the port came in and took a look at the infection... And removed the last stitch from the surgical area. The infectious disease docs are sure that the infection is staph..and that it's limited to the outside of her body (which is good). Hoping to get some good news from the docs...tomorrow am. |

Here's the update for today. It's a good one. They discharged us from the hospital this afternoon...And we are home.
We'll wait for her to heal up from this setback/infection...then reschedule for dialysis to start. I am so fortunate to have a daughter who taught me early on...what is really important in life. She's one tough kid...and I am so proud of her...every day! Thanks for everyone's concerns and prayers. We do greatly appreciate them! [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/youguysrock.gif[/img] |
