You have to ask that question?
As someone who also met the original owner of his car, I can say the experience is awesome. Usually also for the original owner. Hope you recorded everything..... Share those pics and stories! Rich |

Re: Copo Reunion
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-p7020187.jpg Here;s a pic of the first and second owners of my copo camaro. The guy on the right Bill was the orginal owner. He sold the car to the guy on the left, Randy. The car was bought new in Columbus Oh. From Konner chevy, small dealer but they had two groups of 10 copo camaros. Bill raced the car on the street, he installed a set of GM 4;88s in the car. He said only one car, ever beat he on the street. He sold the car to Randy, who lived in the same town. He started racing the car at the track. He took all the interior out of the car, and the drivetrain. He sold the BE rear to a local guy, with a 67 firebird. Randy said the car ran a 10;33,at the track. He then sold the car to Louis, who was going to race it also. But he never got the chance. So Louis put it back to stock condition. Thats when I bought the car. The car has the POP and build sheet with car. After about two years of having the car. Bill and I where talking about the rear, He said he would see if he could find out about the BE rear. And he found out the 67 Firebird was still in the same town, in the same car. So after 1 1/2 years of B/S I got the orginal rear back in the car. We changed out the 488s for 4;10s. The rear still had the factory brake shoes on the rear end. So this car has the complete orginal factory drivetrain in it,today. A couple more vintage pics of the car. Thanks BBBenny

Cool story Benny, thanks for sharing.

Re: Copo Reunion
Very, very cool story and great news that you found the rear. I have somewhat of a similar story, but I won't bore anyone or steal interest from your thread. Please tell us more about the racing days and please post some more vintage (or current) pics.

Re: Copo Reunion
Benny congratulations on reuniting the BE rear with the car. Fantastic history and story. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Re: Copo Reunion
Now we are talking. Was it a Modified Production car with the tunnel ram Professor?
NHRA A/MP or B/MP car. Was it ever converted to a 4 speed car? |
Re: Copo Reunion
Sam, The car was always was a automatic trans car. At one time Randy was two hundreds off the record. He asked his engine guy, how can we get the record. Engine guys reply acid dip the body. Randy never set the record in his class, with the copo. BBBenny
