Cowl tag build date is 04C. What would be a typical date range for the YH rally's?

I was thinking mid-late March to mid April.

Paul - the only possibilities so far would be the late feb wheels - very hard to find.

Possibility exist on the April 19, 20 or 21 wheels, but that is debatable due to the way the build date is calculated, which could cause you some issues as a date being very tight to the point it is after the build of your car.

Build dates on YH's that are relevant for you - late jan, late feb and nothing made in march , then the late april wheels.

Assume these are for your survivor 69Z (nice car BTW )

What wheels/dates are on your car now??

Car has aftermarket YH rally's now that are unstamped. Second owner I assume sold the original wheels and installed aftermarket mags for street racing. Right now I have 3 YH Rallys that are stamped 4-19 and 4-21, so more in this range would be best.

OK, not sure those are correct for your car due to the dating issue - not positive yet, but am trying to find out - they are right on the edge....

in the mean time, let me look at what i have in the inventory

I agree, they would be close, but many parts on the car are dated April 1969. What is the typical spread between body build date and wheel build? I guess it would depend on inventory.

yes, dated april is OK on a lot of parts.....but YH wheels - they are only made 4-18 thru 4-21....that could be too tight and subject to critique that you don't want.

april 18 - 21 dated or most likely May 19, 20 or 21 dated

again, they were made on specific days - i believe i have owned at one point in time or another all the known dates for DF's, AD's and YH's.

jan wheels were stamped on the following days :

K19 1-11 YH (sat by the way)

K19 1-27, 1-28, 1 -29 YH (mon, tues, and wed)

may 1-30 (have to look at my notes)

For comparison, my 05A car has 2 4-19's, and 3 4-21's

buddy, that makes perfect sense to me.

The question I'm trying to get a perspective on is 04C car - are those wheels u mentioned 4-19's and 4-21's too early for the car?

I think so, but depends as well on the true build date of the car.....being it is so close and hard to nail down , and no exact science - I'm inclined to believe that the 2-21's are the correct dates for the 04C car.

1-10-9 is also a known date or K19 1-10 YH

My roommate had a '69 Z/28 in the early eighties and was a 04C Norwood car VIN 633XXX and had 2-26 dated YH wheels. Rear '851 shocks were dated 085 and 091 69. Also had PPG glass.

Based on the info I am seeing, My 04C Z-28 Vin 6346XX was probably built at the later portion of the run but it does seem the 4-21 Rally's are too late for the car to be technically correct. I could look for one more 4-19 to 4-21 wheel and search for a late Feb wheel for the spare. To find a complete set of late Feb wheels is going to be difficult and expensive.

My 70 Z-28 build date is 03B and it has the original wheels including the spare. I will check the wheel dates which I believe are early Feb 1970. Eddie, do you have another 4-19 to 4-21 YH Wheel?

I have a nice used YH Rally wheel dated K-1-9 10 4 (Oct 4th 1969) for sale or trade for one dated in April 69.
