Re: Bitin' HARD!!!!!

I wonder if it is the painted and lettered Royal 67 firebird that they campaigned when new? The fogging and lettering is apparent looking down the side.

Re: Bitin' HARD!!!!!

Here's a shot of the Myrtle Motors '67 car to compare.
Note the tow tabs also no hood tach but dash tach looks similar.
Side lettering is higher than subject vehicle pic but what's that partial higher image on the front fender?

Re: Bitin' HARD!!!!!

It's a '67 Royal car.
Check the below links to two different old mag articles on eBay.
First one has the same pic also one w/ a white hat, same/different car?

Re: Bitin' HARD!!!!!

Pete, I felt that it was the Royal car as I remembered the fogging on the sides. I think the Myrtle dealership also used to graft 2 Pontiac empty hood tachs onto each quarter panel to simulate brake duct scoops on at least one of their cars. The Myrtle car was driven by an employee of the dealership and I believe he was an early driver to do neutral starts at the starting line.
