Pavilions 12/13/2014...Weird Weather!
Holly and I took a quick trip out to Pavilions today.
It felt good to get out of the house...as We/Holly didn't have a pleasant experience for the Thanksgiving Holiday, except meeting up with Dave and Bird Lindsley...and checking out their cool man cave. On Thanksgiving evening, Holly was admitted to the ICU in SoCal, with nausea and the big D. She dehydrated quickly, which affected her kidneys. On top of that, we had to put one of our cats down that same day, long distance... [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/frown.gif[/img] . We remained there until late Saturday afternoon...then were discharged. We drove home that Sunday morning...and saw her kidney doc on the following Monday. Then, fast forward to the following Wednesday night (the 3rd), we ended up in the emergency room...and were admitted to the hospital again...and stayed until this past Sunday...when we were discharged again (with the same issues...nausea and the big D.) So...Like I said, it was good to get out...if only for a while. We really have to watch/control enclosed area crowds for her now....a lot more than we did before. Today was supposed to be Russo and Steele day at Pavilions...and they had their set up out there...but the weather didn't cooperate-So Drew rescheduled the event for next Saturday. Thanks for posting the pictures Bruce. Ann and I are really sorry to hear about Holly. We really hope she feels better!! Sorry about your cat too.. Pets are like a family member and we become so attached.. Our cat is getting older and she has had some problems recently. I am dreading the day she passes. Ann will be a disaster. She has had this cat since before we dated, well over ten years..
My neighbor ironically just had to put down his dog around the same time. He and his wife were a wreck there for a while... I hope your Christmas is MUCH BETTER!! Rich |

Wow Bruce; You guys have had a rough road lately. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/frown.gif[/img] Sorry to hear Holly was hit with that same stuff a lot of us experienced a few weeks back. And I can relate to losing the four-legged family members as well. Been through that too many times myself. After losing my dog in '13 I said I was done with pets, ........ but in the past year I've been adopted by two abandoned kittens in the neighborhood. Now I have one in the house and an official 'shop cat'. Oh well, I shoulda known.
GREAT shots tonite! Kevin's Pontiac is GORGEOUS, and <span style="font-style: italic">no one</span> doesn't like a Red Dual Quad '57 Belair. But the Rainbow shot of the pick-up is awesome!!!! Hopefully, the double rainbows are a good luck omen... Good for you rescuing a kitten, we have done that numerous times and have always been rewarded. We're hoping Holly feels better soon, all the best for the Xmas season and for the New Year, |

Hi Dennis...Yep, been kinda sucky lately...but Holly is a strong girl...and always has a smile on her face.
I now have a Nikon D5100...it's a bit over a year old. I love it! Keep in mind, that rainbow shot was taken during the "golden hour" [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif[/img] We really miss our Rusty...he was a gentle soul...an unreal...and really cool cat. Never seen anything like him. He really helped out when times were rough. There is a huge void now that he's gone...but we were lucky to have him. Have a great evening Dennis! |

Cal, you are welcome. We're hoping that things get better. Holly is back on the kidney transplant list...and hopefully before long will have a new kidney.
We've rescued a few cats...we've only bought one purebred cat...and that is Abby...who is still with us...and is Holly's cat. She's 17 human years old. We also had Sophie (rescued at 8 years old and lived to 18 years old) and Rusty, rescued at 1 year old and lived to 9 years old (with lots of kidney issues) |
