This hood has no latch. Look at the second picture. I never looked at one of Dons original hoods.

Re: 68 Yenko hood

It has hood pins so I dont think it would of had a latch.

Re: 68 Yenko hood

Did anyone here nab the Craigslist hood, is it from a '68 Yenko or A&A piece the same?
The Dana hoods look slightly different between the scoops also Harrell hoods much different yet.
Pic below from the ad...I left it a few days before commenting in case someone was onto it.

Re: 68 Yenko hood

I bought it Pete.I was told it came off a Yenko but who knows. The gentleman is getting me the cars info and the vin. Supposedly the car was wrecked in the 70's and the hood has been in an attic for 40 years. It is a very old hood. It's going on a l78 car.

Re: 68 Yenko hood

Great you got it Jeff, nice grab and what a cool piece to add to your L78!
Good to know you're digging for more info too, please update us on whatever else you find out.

Thanks! I enjoy finding out the histories of each car, either mine or other's.

Re: 68 Yenko hood

i you get the hood and the original color is Corvette bronze, it may be off Ys 8063. I would be interesting in talking to you about possibly buying or trading that hood away from you.

Re: 68 Yenko hood

Andrew, I'm picking up the hood tomorrow. Hopefully the vin is available to me from the seller. I'll check under the paints to see if I find bronze. Do you have 8063 vin?

Re: 68 Yenko hood

My boss does. We have a hood but not original to car as the hood pins do not line up. Original hood was stolen when car was stripped in 1969 as far as we can tell. How do you identify an original hood? Who made the originals for Yenko?

Re: 68 Yenko hood

I've asked the same question. I spoke to charley and he said his hood for his yenko was very heavy. I picked up hood today and it too is heavy and smooth underneath as his was. Is there anybody in the central jersey area who might be able to authenticate this hood?

The loose '68 Yenko hood that appeared here a year or few back was Bronze wasn't it...middle cut out of it like the Cherokee or am I mixing it up w/ that loose Harrell Camaro hood?
Weren't all the original 67/68 Dana, Harrell and Yenko Camaro hoods by A&A?

Re: 68 Yenko hood

Found the thread w/ the loose bronze '68 Yenko Hood that had the middle cutout also the Harrell Camaro hood too, links below to both threads.
What's sad is I just realized both loose hoods were rescued and posted here by the same SYC member 68z28kk...yes Clint V who just passed away.

RIP Clint
