Best car story in yenko.net history
Just a little different topic. What was your guy's and gal's best car story in the history of this forum? I,ve only been a member for 4 1/2 years but one of my favorites was the reunion of the 67 z28 engine in the t-bucket back into the original red 67 z. Let's see how long we can keep this topic going!

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
There are a lot of best's, but that is a great one!

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
My favourite is ss427COPO and BWAG 1969 L89 Camaro

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
The SS427COPO L89 Yellow Camaro story has been fun . I've enjoyed every installment. Even though sometimes I can't remember what I had for lunch the previous day ,the Camaro story is fresh in my mind.....BWAG

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
Good topic.
The Hawaiian '68 Dana Camaro that was restored by the Super Car Workshop. I wasn't a member when car was found but what a story! I happen to buy the October 2010 issue of Muscle Car Review at the airport for some reading material on my flight from Jacksonville to Cincinnati and I was hooked. Brian Henderson signed a copy of the article for my man cave last year at MCACN. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...;Number=238104 I hope to see the car in person some day. A close runner up would be Brent's COPO. |
Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
njsteve's Trans Am restoration.

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
Any story that is told by Tibor is a winner..just ask him about L89 Novas ...it's even better if it includes some shots at Howie or Cumby.

LOL. I dunno about the best but it sure is the most watched one at 2.7 million views - probably all those Nigerian and Russian hackers trying to infiltrate the website! |

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
Rogers Dick Harrell Chevelle is the best for me.... what better than the original owner finding thier original supercar with help from a former member here..and He never realized it was a real COPO until after finding the car some 40 years later !!!

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
Dana's '68 Yenko Camaro found in the junk yard, Adam's '71 BM Phase III Vette, the Dana '68 Camaro Hawaii find, Charley's '67 Z28 find he put the experimental aluminum small block in... so many good cars!
|
Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
The 70 Dick Harrell Camaro find was one of my favorites. Neat story behind the car before and after it was found.
|
Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
Charley's local multiple Corvette buy (and subsequent sell) was an interesting story.
More recent was the '67 RS/SS L78 find/eBay sale in SoCal. |
Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
Roger D Chevelle, njsteve's TA, Charley's 70 1100 mile Z28,
I tried to find the thread on this one below but I can't find it - it was a nice field find... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-cimg0083.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...amaro026_1.jpg I also lost it when this BM car popped up on here - I love it and its long-time, one-family story : https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...710-motion.jpg |
Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
I'm biased but discovering the original owner of my dad's 70 Judge on here was pretty damn cool. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbthrea...raiii#Post95842
Read the 4th post down! |
Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
Agree about the black BM '69 Camaro above. Just out of the blue, one of the holy grails of muscle car lore pops up and it's in beautiful condition and still in the original family. One of my very favorite stories.

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
I remember a very old thread about a blue '68 Harrell Chevelle which lead to the mention of another Harrell Chevelle in junkyard in Missouri somewhere. Never got closure on either one, but that thread sticks in my mind. Also, the R/A V Judge thread(s) were a very entertaining read.

It was actually bought off the truck on it's way to the wrecking yard. It never made it there, luckily. Thanks for the mention, just wanted to clarify... |

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
And let's not forget the epic story of Bergy's 616414 Yenko hiding as a Z28 clone...that is a classic! So many "experts" on here were so, so wrong.

Oh boy! Thanks Tracker! I feel another 50 pages of discussion coming on......

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
Haven't been on here for a while but with my car going into MCACN this year, figured I'd better get with it.
The blue 64 Bel Air that a friend found in a garage in Detroit with a six and three on the tree with 7k on it was fun. It had been in there since 1968 and had something very strange about it. Turns out it was an original 409 4 speed car that a transplanted drivetrain back then. Someone on here bought it, all it took was a good srubbing behind the ears and put the right stuff back in it. Still had the clear plastic seat covers on it. Amazingly original . Bel Air Bob? |
Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
Hey Tracker,
I like to hear more about the Bergys 616414 Yenko hiding as a Z-28clone, i somehow miss that episode. |

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
Thank you. I've enjoyed sharing it. I can't believe it has been 30 years since I bought it. I owe you a phone call!

Re: Best car story in yenko.net history
Bob, as much as it was enjoyable writing the history about me finding your car, you're friendship has been greater. You "feeding info and pics" about the car you ordered in '68 has been just as rewarding. Thank you, my friend.
