Need Some Prayers..
 

It's been a tough week...mom [the original Wilma} took a fall and broke her arm...and then the wheels came off. I won't list all the stuff that has happened since Saturday, but at the moment she is in ICU. The local hospital has been a nightmare...praying she gets a little stronger so she can be moved to another facility. She is in a tough spot. Please send some SYC magic her way.

Prayers sent; my wife just went through some stuff with her mother and my mother (80) has been through some crap too. It's tough seeing your parents get old. Here's hoping that evrything turns out okay.

Just got back from the hospital...she is better today. Sat up most of the afternoon in the chair...her smile was good and there was even a little "twinkle" in her eyes. If she remains stable tonite thru the morning she can return to a regular room tomorrow. Then I can work on getting her to a better spot for rehab...

Wilma is moving to a regular room this morning...so things are looking up. Next step will be a spot for some rehab and then hopefully back to her senior living facility.

They had 66+ years of marriage, so you can understand his &quot;pain.&quot; But I'm concerned about <span style="text-decoration: underline">him</span> falling at this point. He is 92 and getting more unstable everyday. We've tried to suggest a walker or a cane but he is too stubborn (or maybe too proud?) Anyway, all that to say I can relate to what you're going through and will add your Mom to my pray list. You're doing the best that you can. We can't watch over them 24/7 so at some point we just have to give them up to the Lord.

UPDATE 10/27/24: We are trying to get her out of the hospital and transferred to a rehabilitation facility...the red tape/gov't paperwork is beyond description. If this is healthcare...somebody screwed up [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/no.gif[/img]

Be glad to pray for your Mom. My mother took a spill not long ago (she is 83) and I damn near cried when I saw her----she was laughing about it! She looked like she went a few rounds with Rocky Balboa! Really, I'll start tonight and hopefully, the prayers will make their way upstairs to the BIG MAN. Consider it done.

We still aren't out of the woods...lots of issues with breathing [02/co2]...trying to get it sorted out...I did find a pretty good rehab spot...but, we need to resolve the breathing issues first. It just keeps spinning....thanks again for all the good support.

Tom, my thoughts and prayer for your mom. My mom is 93, and still with it but she is having a hard time remembering short term things.

Today was not a good day..she is struggling...I've decided to move her to a different medical facility...my confidence is not there for the current hospital.

I have started the ball rolling to move her to another hospital where we have some friends on the inside...not sure if it will do the trick, but she deserves to have the best chance. Today will most likely be an interesting one navigating the medical mine field.

I know the feeling. making settlement today on my father-in-laws house. He has been living in Elm Terrace assisited living for 2 weeks now and my mother in Spring Gardens for over a month. Both had to be done at the same time and both do not want to be there.
Things will work out Tom.
