1970 or ? Camaro Z28 wheel identification
Is there any other way to tell what year this wheel is from?

Looks like k-1-9 70 z/28 wheel produced 6-13-69. Also has correct round valve stem hole for 1970.

Respectfully do not completely agree... 1) K = Kelsey Hayes 2) 1 = Michigan Plant 3) xx = Year of manufacturing 4) xx = Month 5) xx = Day We would need to see the 9 or 0 in the year slot for 1969 or 1970 respectfully. |

Dan, the 9 is there but it's faint and correct me if I'm wrong but the outer valve stem opening went to oval shaped after 70.

Thanks for that info. Looks like K-1-8 or 9 so must be 78 or 79

Re: 1970 or ? Camaro Z28 wheel identification
Thank you for all the replies. Can anyone confirm the outer oval hole size and year designation? I will measure it too see if that helps.
Thanks, Marty |
Re: 1970 or ? Camaro Z28 wheel identification
Do you measure side to side? If so, it looks like 13/16. Any further insight is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Marty |

Re: 1970 or ? Camaro Z28 wheel identification
Mike, Dan and Ed,
Thank you very much for the information. I at least now have an idea that it is late 70 through 76. Still unsure of exact year. It came out of the trunk of a 73, so maybe that is it. Any thoughts on value? Thanks, Marty |
Re: 1970 or ? Camaro Z28 wheel identification
Do you know the month the car was built?
If it were built in late june or july I would believe the wheel may have a 3 vs a 9 and is original to the car, sure appears to have the original suede finish. |
Re: 1970 or ? Camaro Z28 wheel identification
I don't own the Camaro anymore. But, I did find some photos of the other wheels that were on the car when I sold it. If they were all matching hopefully it will solve this little mystery.
