Re: My 66 Chevy 2 Modified Production car.
----Nicely done Chevy II. Love the detail! How fast will they let you run with that 3-point bar?.....Bill S

Re: My 66 Chevy 2 Modified Production car.
Thanks guys glad you like it. Bill I have not raced it yet still need to do a little front end work and put a drive shift loop on it. I think it will run some low 11's to high 10's so the roll bar will be an issue but I mostly just built it to take to car shows for my business and to go out and bang the gears in that 5 speed on the back roads!....lol.

outstanding, love it!

Re: My 66 Chevy 2 Modified Production car.
----Sweet, Dave!!! Whats it weigh and whats the engine doing, hp-wise? Oh yah,,,what gear? Love the Jenkins front plate. Says it all!.....Bill S

Re: My 66 Chevy 2 Modified Production car.
Did you have to do anything to the trans tunnel in order to the the Nash 5 speed in it? Neat car!
|
Re: My 66 Chevy 2 Modified Production car.
The car should be around 3000 lbs the engine is a 355 with 12.5 pistons, Eagle crank and rods, has Dart aluminum heads painted orange so they don't stand out with the old look, a Lunati .630 solid roller cam,800 Holley carb and a Chevy Bow tie intake. I would guess it is in the 500 hp range. The rear gear is a 3.73 with a Moser spool and axles. You can only run 26 inch tall tires so you don't need much more gear using the 5 speed because of it's 3.25 first gear.

Re: My 66 Chevy 2 Modified Production car.
No modification was done to the tunnel for the transmission other than a cross member. The dimensions along the top of it are similar to a muncie 4 speed it is larger at the bottom of the case and hangs down more there. The Tremic 5 and 6 speeds are the ones that require the tunnel to be cut out as they stick up through the floor more.

Re: My 66 Chevy 2 Modified Production car.
Nice. My brother has one like that Artesian Turq., original color. He bought it as a "roller" now has a date correct 327 (it was a V8 car). There was a brand new Lemonwood Yellow 66 Chevy II sedan like this in our hometown had a factory L79 in it. Didn't mess with it.
