New toy pics
some of you have wanted to see pics of the new toy here they are.
79 Z28 4-speed car 3:73 posi 24,285 miles. still has its original tires. I dont care for the 5 spokes too much red, so I have a set of the optional n90 turbines that are going on. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9-dscf1318.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0-dscf1320.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1-dscf1323.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-dscf1325.jpg |

Re: New toy pics
I have the window sticker, build sheet and warranty sticker book.
car was sold new at Fairway Chevrolet in New Tazewell Tenn. to a guy in Berea Ohio. from what I understand for his Daughter and she didn't like the 4-speed. from there I here it went to a collector in Conn. then on to Michigan. Sam nothing pretty under the hood, but I'll get a pic. |

Re: New toy pics
the car drives real nice. not the fastest car I've got but it is the best handling.
Ryan, no collection Tanner may end up with this car all depends on him. hes a senior this year so grades and how well he takes care of his little Pontiac will determine that. |
Re: New toy pics
Cool! "Pontiac"?
|
Re: New toy pics
I assume those are not original vacuum line black plastic tie straps? The two near and around the PCV Valve? Just asking?

Heres an update on this car my son now owns it. and it looks like this now we put the N90 wheels on it
|
Good looking car. Nice to see your son involved as well.
|
Nice car! What battery came in it, do you have the BS?
|
according to the BS its a 400 battery
|
Beautiful! Same colors as the one I bought in 92.
You just made me second guess parting with my current 79 Z... |
Wow! Looking great...wheels are VERY sharp!
|
Nice z would like to see some more pics especially engine.
|
Donnie, Love your son's Z, looks beautiful and those wheels look spectacular on it.
Almost forget how nice looking those late second gen Z's are. |
Gorgeous car!
|
Very nice looking car, congrats.
I would be really concerned about running the original tires. I had two radial TA's fail last weekend on my Pace Car after driving on the freeway. The tires were about 10-12 years old. My car failed the annual inspection in Dubai due to the date code on tires being more than 5-years old. Maximum tire age is 5-years for all cars. Probably a smart rule to eliminate any high speed blowouts. |
Very nice I am too young to remember these cars new, but I dont ever remember seeing this color before.

the originals are still on the five spokes. |
I went with my high school friend to Celozzi Ettelson Chevy in Elmhurst and his dad bought him a brand new 79 Z28 (Black with blue stripes, interior) for his graduation present. Still has car today!
All I got for my graduation was a set of Craftsman tools which I am still using :-) |

Gorgeous '79 Z. That's the same color as my '78 Z, Carmine Metallic.
