1970 Yenko Corvette?

Hi Everyone, new to the site, I'm a huge fan of Yenko cars in general and I understand the Super Cars are completely different from the cars sold at the dealership. This is where I need your guys help...
I recently came across a supposed 1970 "Yenko dealer sold" corvette out in Minnesota, which interests me and adds to the "cool" factor and an interesting conversation piece, not necessarily adding a dollar value. When we ran the NCRS shipping data report and found it was actually shipped to a neighboring dealer in the PA area, The dealer code is believed to be zone 13-864 based on poor quality micorfiche. The build date is 1/29/1970. Weaver Chevrolet, Oil City, PA. The dealer in Minnesota spun it and said it was more than likely a dealer transferred car for someone who wanted these options and it then went to Yenko Chevrolet. Seeing its so close to Canonsburg, this doesn't seem out of the question, but documentation is everything. It's listed in the C3 Registry as a documented Yenko sold corvette. Unfortunately there is no other documentation found at this time, other than a weathered metal Yenko badge in the rear and an original Yenko rear bumper sticker in the folder (not yet used on the car). Is there any way to authenticate this was sold through Yenko Chevrolet? 1970 Corvette convertible L46 350/350HP M21 4 speed Green on Green VIN- 194670S402092 / Does anyone know of this car? Any information or guidance here is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I think the bible is the delivering dealer of record, Weaver Chevrolet. Unless someone can produce a bill of sale showing Yenko on it, you may have reached a dead end. Your car is a good car, I've had many 350/350 horse Corvettes. I don't know if a documented Yenko heritage would make a difference in the value. Look for a tank sheet, it probably confirms Weaver as the dealer, also.

I know where there's a totally original Motion Corvette stashed away in a barn, been sitting 30+ years, complete with flat tires and 3inches of dust

Sounds like a nice car, hope the Yenko lineage proves to be correct. I think it adds to the car even of not a "Supercar"

Anybody have any information on Weaver Chevrolet. A nice dealer badge from there would sit nice on the back of my next Chevelle............

Re: 1970 Yenko Corvette?

Hi Guys, I'm trying to get a hard copy of the rear bumper sticker, but he said it's a Yenko logo similar to the emblem but much larger. I thought it would read "Yenko Tuned" or something... Anyway, I'm pressing these guys to dig a little deeper. Again, this isn't to necessarily create more value with the car, though it may, it's more of a cool factor and a conversation piece without the six figure price tag associated with the Yenko Super cars... Perhaps one day I'll actually be looking at a Yenko Super car to purchase but until then I'm in the Yenko sold realm.

Thanks again for all your guys' feedback, I know this is not your average post on the Yenko site...

Oil City isn't close to Canonsburg. That's almost two hours away.
I don't know when Weaver went out.
Crivelli has been the dealer in the area for years. I just found my pics of a Corvette show there in the early 80's.

Been a while since I've been on the forum, thought I'd follow up from my original post. The POP / warranty book and other dealer related docs ended up being with the car and did in fact derive from Yenko Chevrolet. It also had an original license frame "Corvette by Yenko", which I have never seen before, along with the original pitted metal yenko badge on the back (not repop). I plan on holding on to her for years to come and has made an interesting conversation piece while on the road.

Sounds neat - just make sure the POP is real....have seen guys duplicate pop's and books.

also - who is the salesman on the POP?

did u contact warren Demorcheck )sorry for the SP?) he may have some records of this sold from YENKO.

any warranty paperwork that can verify yenko involvement?

also - what is the name on the POP - is the person still around?

There's an original paint Forest Green 70 LT-1 Vette from Yenko not far from here. I posted some pics of it a few years ago.

I always google the buyers address on the POP first, I have found addresses that never existed.
Did one for a Black 69 Z/28 and the buyers address was always a dirt field. Called the dealer and they still had all of the sales records and had no record of any Black Z being sold there. Seller swore it was real.

Not sure if I uploaded this correctly, but here's the license frame and original metal badge I mentioned about above.

I did some research, thankfully the POP name does match up with the original owner listed who moved from PA to FL in the late 70's, I have a copy of the title transfer to FL when he sold the car to Pro-Team in the mid 90's.

Just saw all the posts, thanks for the interest! I do have the car in storage along with all the paperwork/POP/etc. I did make a copy of the POP owner info and made a plaque with older advertisements for the car back in the 90's advertised as a Yenko sold Corvette, pretty cool literature. The original owner is unfortunately no longer with us, but here's a pic (copy) of the POP I put in the plaque, hope this helps and maybe we can see if the Yenko guy mentioned above can get more info on the car and Yenko provenance. Thanks again guys!

You could also Mapquest or Zillow the address as well to verify it is valid.

And, I know where Mr. McCollum lived pretty well as I drove past it many times on my to and from my ex-wife's house when we were dating.

Wow what a small world! Did he have the Vette at the time or ever see it around? I'm sure this conjures up both good and not so good memories being your now ex-wife, but thank you for sharing.

And thanks for the other posts guys, glad you dig it!

Semi off-topic, but would a late 70's Vette sold from Yenko (with documentation) have any collector value? Seems late 70's vettes are at about rock bottom in value... just wondering if the Yenko connection would make one any more desirable. I know where there are a couple locally... at least one is 100% original, in good shape and a 4 speed.

Certainly a conversation starter but basically no bearing on value. Those cars are tough... slow as dogs on a summer afternoon, and they're vacuum disasters. One line is corroded the whole system fails and good luck finding it.

Re: 1970 Yenko Corvette?

----Have a local buddy that swapped a crate 502 into his anemic 76 Vette along with a 5-speed. The thing was a beast and he didn't change the outside appearance at all. Surprised the heck out of a lot of locals, and he got pretty good money when he sold it due to the transplant. Although I don't think he quite broke even, he had a lot of fun.....Bill S

I thought they did frames, but not sure.

Re: 1970 Yenko Corvette?

Maybe emblems and/or decals too but Weaver Chev Oil City indeed used plate frames, here's a pic of one below if it works.
Especially if using it on the Olds Ryan, there's a few other a Weaver dealers including these below frames currently on eBay.
