Pretty interesting! But, who in the heck wrote that article? I couldn't finish it. My brain just shuts down reading it, probably because the credibility meter hits bottom pretty quickly when they're written so poorly....

I have to agree about the article. I also tried to read it but quite in the second paragraph. Pretty neat car though.

Anyone thinking one of these are going to be had for anywhere near 55 grand is in for a rude awakening.

Cool beast! Given all the translation icons, I'll bet the author's 1st language was not English.

If 55k is the actual selling price, that's not a bad deal compared to it's competition.

Although I did read one article saying it may weigh over 4400 pounds, so it's going to need that extra horsepower.

Wish Ford, Dodge, and Chevy would come up with light-weight versions of their behemouths. These wonderful muscle cars keep packing the pounds on. I would like to see them use carbon fiber, more aluminum, get rid of radios, air con, sound deadening, thick glass, back seats, etc.

"Likely to make it's way into a 4 door Charger SRT"
Why doesn't Dodge scrap the Charger if they have a 2 door Challenger.
Will be a great cop car though.

Watch the dealers jack up the price -- supply and demand will be the key ...

I remember when 400hp was a lot for a stock vehicle. The way things are going, we will be driving cars with 1000hp out of the showroom floor within ten years. Simply amazing.

Yes and a lot of these cars are being wrapped around poles under the wrong hands and are un safe with all that power.
Surprised that the envelope keeps being stuffed with all this horse power as you can't even use it on the street.

I agree....I remember people paying $10k plus more for a newer (2006-2007?) GT500 when they first came out. Crazy IMO.....unless you never drove it which (1) would be no fun and (2) most cars will hold their value if you never drive it. (excluding a Pinto)

Lucky you dont live here. Local Ford dealer her lists GT500s MSRP +10k at least. When the Laguna came out they listed at $95k.....and sold it. "it's worth what people will pay" I guess

All that horsepower and the rear wheels/tires look like base model V6 equipment.

These new high HP cars are getting harder to insure. I have a friend with a perfect driving record with the same insurance co. for the last 14 yrs. He purchased a new 2014 GTR and the insurance co. called him after he purchased it and tried to back out of insuring it. They did insure it, but they didnt want to.

I saw Jake D. posted this on Facebook.

The Hellcat runs 10.85 at 126mph on drag radials. WOW.....did they bring a production car or a ringer prepped by Jim Wagner?

I'm a GM guy but "Blown Hemi Challenger" sure rolls off the tongue nicely! Obviously built for street racing because the Tech Guy at every NHRA track from coast to coast is gonna point to the exit gate when these start showing up without roll bars and a WHOLE lot of other mandated equipment. I think we finally reached the pinnacle!

Re: 2015 Challenger Hellcat. 707 hp.

$55k is what the dealership is getting it for. They will probably mark it up $20k to $30k. When the challenger was first revived, I remember the dodge dealership near me was asking $70k when the car actually cost somewhere in the $50k range fully loaded.
