Be careful with the Insurance "option". Many times it is not real insurance and if it is not packed by a professional packing service they will not pay.
I just had to refund a guy $550.00 for a NOS 70 Camaro Console I sold him because UPS cracked it in half and refused to honor the "agreed value" which is NOT insurance. Be careful. Rich |

UPS paid legitimate claims up until about 10 12 years ago when they hired an outside adjusting company.
I have said it before, I would not ship a bowling ball UPS. |

One thing to understand is ups and fedex automatically decline claims the first time unless they are under 100.00, you need to be persiustant and take good pics of items before and after....i had a claim for a dash cluster,they denied it for not having packing...the pics of the box had a full roll of bubble wrap in them. It was obvious they decline first without even looking into the facts ,to see if you go away. Take pics of the item before shipping/then the box open with packaging,and save it until the item is received on the other end . The other way to do it is to ship everything uninsured unless its a ultra high dollar item . The money you save will pay for the 1-2 out of pocket losses every few years If you are goiing to ship carbs and transmission cases free wheeling in a box like so many i receive , save your insurance money,you dont have a chance.

Just remember stated value means YOUR stated value,not thiers. You have a total loss, you have to prove it was worth what you insured it for, its not an automatic claim for stated value .

It sure would, I've been trying to collect some day 2 stuff here and there to convert to that 70's look but as soon as the state boys saw that hood on my car I'd have to take it off. I got a bunch of crap when I had this one on my 66 Nova. I actually had to remove the velocity stack I had on the carb and put my stock flat hood on if I drove it anywhere other then the small town I live in. There a tough crowd around here.

I have a NOS 69 camaro Trunk Mat that was sold for $1100 and ups put a rip in it and would not,pay It was insured for the full value.I took them to court,and the judge made them pay me and I did it my self. do not send any thing of value UPS.

I fought with the US Post office for 9 months on a broken carb. Submitted the paperwork 3 times. Like Chuck said I think they automatically deny a claim to see if you will let it go. I met with my local postmaster 4 different times and finally got paid after staying on them. It is a headache if something does get damaged.

That orange car with the 3-point hiding there sure sparked me!!! Please tell me more or tell me where some pics are.....members rides? The hood is a killer piece; my "69 never ran Pro Stock or I would make a play for it. I, too, had a problem with UPS' shipping "insurance". They treat the parcels much like the baggage handlers at the airport throw the luggage around.

I've had my stinger hood for twenty years but never knew what brand it was. The underside of this one is identical To mine. My hood weights only 9 lbs. Anyone have an old Moroso catalog that shows their fiberglass hoods.

I just wanted to say Thank You to Tom Day2 69Z for this awesome hood. Also for making a long drive and meeting me halfway to deliver the hood in person. Tom is a true car guy and a real gentleman. It's the people that make this hobby so enjoyable, the cars are a bonus !!!
