Show your age

Re: Show your age
I only saw the reruns of the late 70s to early 80s.
|
Re: Show your age
I remember that episode...and staying up late to see the rest of them, back in the late 1960's.

Re: Show your age
Funny as just last week I was singing that song to my wife in the car one day who being young has never even heard of the show. Wasn't it on Sunday nights after Flip or even later? ~ |

Rich |
Re: Show your age
I hate to admit...I even know the theme song by heart...someone challenged me at work the other day...so I had to sing the whole thing..LOL

Re: Show your age
TV???? We didn't even have one until about 1958. Rabbit ears brought in one local station. Sign on was around noon. How old is that.

We used to watch the test pattern in the morning while waiting for the stations to start broadcasting, and then again after the last program went off at night. Yep, them were thrilling times. |

Dug the Corvette's in Route 66 with Martin Milner, later to star in Adam 12.

Re: Show your age
Milner, and his co star George Maharis.
This was an extra credit question on a law school criminal law exam I took decades ago. It simply said: "Name the actors who portrayed Buzz Murdock and Todd Styles on Route 66?" I was the only who got the extra 5 points. |
Re: Show your age
Everyone seems to have overlooked "Bandstand", as in American Bandstand. Bandstand info on wiki
One of our local stations carried it way earlier than 1957 but I can't seem to recall who the front man was. We even had a local version called "Hoosier Favorite" that was on on late Saturday afternoons, with dancing and records and local bands. It was a part of growing up in the 50's. |
Re: Show your age
Yes it was, thanks for dusting off my memory

Re: Show your age
Strange enough, pics of Corvette XP-755 aka Mako Shark 1 were just posted over on the Old Street Scenes thread...this same car appeared in a Route 66 episode. ~ Pete https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...k1_route66.jpg |

Re: Show your age
Not sure if anybody gets this station...Channel 2 KJWP-MeTV. Used to be out of Wyoming until a few months ago. It is now broadcast out of the Wilmington/Philadelphia area . Lots of old shows from even back in the late 50's.
