In October of 1969 I went back into my local Chevy Dealer (St. Remy Motors, Kingston, Ontario) and ordered this 70 Chevelle SS. My trade was the 69 RS/SS Camaro I bought from them six months earlier. Car arrived in early December. Owned it for over three years until learning of my daughter on the way. Best daily driver I have ever owned. I believe this picture is from 1971 at my brother-in-law's wedding. Man, did I have a good head of hair back then [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif[/img]

Me in January 1975 in MacKenzie BC. Temp was around -40 as I recall. I was praying for warmer weather, or gloves, or something..........
Car was my best friends, a 73 442 with a 455, turbo 400 and a 2 series Posi. 2:73.s or close. White swivel buckets. Unreal on the highway for power, and he ran 15:00 flat at the strip with it on slippery BFG's. This is the car that got me into Oldsmobiles. I don't know where this car ended up. My high school parking lot circa May 1980. Amity Senior High, Woodbridge CT. I drove the Superbird when my 69 Z11 Pace car wasn't running (remember they were cheap used cars back then).
The rich kids had the brand new Z-28s. The poor kids had the ten year old musclecars. The school janitor drove the black and gold 71 RS/Z-28 parked on the hill in the third photo. Black and gold were our school colors. I lost the few pics that I had of my 1970 307 Malibu years ago. It was gold with black stripes and Keystone wheels. If anyone has any vintage pics (1990 or older) of a gold with black stripe Chevelle, I would love to see them.

Circa 1981 when I moved out to Denver after high school to go to diesel tech school. 1970 440+6 Cuda, four speed. That's my brother's 69 327 three speed Camaro, behind it.

Yes it was. Same friend also had a blue on blue AAR (and still has it today) and his dad had a 1969 hemi Roadrunner (which he would "borrow" occasionally when his dad left for work earlier than he left for school...) [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif[/img] |
