Super Car Reunion 17, June 20, 21, 2014
 

Super Car Reunion #17 will once again be at Gateway Motorsports Park, Madison, IL. (only minutes from St. Louis), June 20-22, 2014, part of Super Chevy Weekend.

The schedule will pretty much mirror that of SCR16, with only a few minor changes.

All weekend we will have our own designated area to display our cars(and tow rigs), near the drag strip/grandstands, a couple of hours of track time on Friday afternoon just for our group, with a nice sit down dinner that evening.

On Saturday a exhibition run or two, plus our own class for those wanting to make more runs.



The host hotel will be the Doubletree in Collinsville, 618-345-2800 (mention Supercar Reunion for group rate). This is the hotel we have used in the past, only minutes from Gateway.

I plan to be there again looking forward to the great chicken we had last year.i hear the Copo Cartel boys may have found some more power in the green machien . So as per last years race im calling them out looser buys beer lol

after reviewing the pictures of 16, it appears that all brands are welcome. If this has been changed let me know. I'm trying to rearrange my schedule to attend again this year. Its been about 5 years since I was there.always looking for a place to make a few passes and work on my driving skills

As far as I know, because we are part of the Super Chevy Show, it will be for Chevy and Chevy powered cars only. Last year SCR16 was part of the All American Show, open to all makes.

I'm bring a camaro with a zl1 under the hood and the highlight will be having some of beers in the hotel parking lot telling lies withs some cool car nuts . The fire jacket is hanging in the trailer .

Doug, I agree.

The smell of racing fuel, loud exhausts, smokey burnouts, hard launches, (some with the front wheels in the air), redline power shifts, does not get better then that.

And only at the Super Car Reunion.

I booked a room at the Hampton which is only 4 tenths of a mile away. The Doubletree was pretty much full other than $200+ a night rooms.

Kurt that will be great. You are very close at traffic light. Our nightly sessions in the hotel parking lot are worth the price of admission Plus I am sure we can shuttle you over to your hotel if needed. Our cooler will be open so stop on by.

Fuel <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">IS</span></span> available at the track. I know they have 110, 112, and more. Also have Methanol.

If like in years past, you will need to bring a fuel jug, as due to Illinois State regulations, Gateway cannot pump it into your car.

If these cars are so &quot;super&quot; why don't they hold it at different places around the country every year, like other big car gatherings... There are so many other Yenkos, Motions, etc. around the country that people would show if they didn't have to travel halfway across the country to get to one...... yawn............. Sorry to have missed the reunion. Hope the Heartland Nova reunion doesn't conflict with it again next year.

The reunion has always been about more than the cars. It has been the starting point of many friendships. I know my life has been blessed to have come to know through these special cars, people who come into your life, and stay with you forever. From those who still make us smile like Barnhart, and Cumby, to those who are gone, but still in our hearts like COPO Pete, and Steve Sandlin.

Thank you Tom, for all you've done, and for starting, and continuing the reunion. You have &quot;kept the faith&quot; of keeping the story, and historical provenance of these cars alive.
