Pavillions 03 08 2014-Debut of Taylor's Chevelle!
Today was the big day that Taylor (my nephew) has been waiting for....If you remember <span style="color: #CC0000">THIS</span> post from 2010 (LOL)...the engine is done and in the car. Mark Jones built the engine and our good buddy Shaun Price (Galveston) (so amazing at what he does!) did the install and a LOT of other "stuff".
The engine is a now a 468 with right at 468 horsepower and 530 ft lbs of torque...running on the stock cast iron manifold and a Chevrolet Quadrajet (meant to be a kind of sleeper appearing)with Hedman ceramic coated headers. That's mated to a custom built 700R4 transmission. The rebuilt 12 bolt posi is out back. It has the exhaust cutouts that we scored from Albert Galdi - and a Pypes exhaust system on it as well. Bruce I had the pleasure of helping Mark put Taylor's motor on the Dyno. I watched him make pulls on it and it sounds great . I'm sure Taylor will love it . Mark builds all my motors and they kick a$$.

I really like the Chevelle. I like the way the motor looks, the red interior and even the flat hood. I also agree that it really needs dog dish'ed!

I like the steering column patina too. Dan gets it!
I'm all for stock looking wheels. For a 1970 Chevelle nothing would look more like a sleeper than full wheel covers. Dog dish caps are always great too. |

An update to Taylor's Chevelle. He took it on an extended drive to Tucson (and back) a few days ago and the car averaged 18.3 miles per gallon [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif[/img] The engine temps stayed cool as well.
Nothing better than a reliable 470 HP big block that gets good MPG [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif[/img] [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/burnout.gif[/img] |
