Southern CA dealership help!!
Hello everyone I'd like to introduce myself I am new to yenko.net but have been a camaro guy for a few years now. Got hooked on super cars when got a chance to attend the muscle car nationals in Chicago this past year. I am from North Carolina so am unfamiliar with the west coast. I recently purchased a 69 camaro LM1 that was build in Van Nuys and stayed in that vicinity it's whole life until coming to NC. I spoke with the original owner a few days ago and he told me that he bought the car in Brea CA but could not remember the name of the dealership. The only dealership I could find was Guardian Chevrolet. Does anyone know of any other dealerships in the Brea CA area. Thanks in advance!

Re: Southern CA dealership help!!
Isn't it La Brea? Or is that just a street in LA?

Re: Southern CA dealership help!!
Welcome Mike! I didn't grow up in SoCal so my history on dealers is very limited. Dana who goes by 427freak might have an idea since he lives farther South than I do.

Thanks guys! Any dealership info on Guardian chevy would be appreciated. Does anyone know if it's still in operation and if not when did it shut down? Anyone have any memorabilia?

Re: Southern CA dealership help!!
I grew up in La Habra down the street from Don Steve's Chevrolet. He came to our elementary school for career day or something like that. GM yanked the dealership and they are selling used cars out of there now. Don Steve's son was running it but committed suicide a few years back, very sad. A lot of history came out of there.
Brea is next door, pretty small town. I don't remember a Guardian Chevrolet on Brea Bl. I'll look up the address. |

Found this postcard already sold on Ebay. Pretty cool. Looks like mid 60's. I see an El Camino a Vette a Corvair an Impala.

Re: Southern CA dealership help!!
Guardian ran from 59 to the mid seventies, they sold a few HI-Po cars back in the day. There's a nice o.g. frame on ebay right now ,not for the timid
street view from the mid sixties with a mid year on the point ( paging Mr Blythe;)) http://www.ebay.com/itm/CA-Brea-Californ...C-/371000463059 |

I don't remember Guardian Chevrolet?

Re: Southern CA dealership help!!
Are there any way of tracing down what dealer my car was delivered too? My car is an early dec.68 Los car.

Re: Southern CA dealership help!!
Yes, wait a few months and the national corvette museum and NCRS will be offering the service for a fee.

Re: Southern CA dealership help!!
Buy that license plate frame!!! i love dealer tags-frames on cars. All CA cars got frames rather than dealer emblems. I have bought a feew on ebay and there is a guy with 500 some sets. He started to collect them as a kid. He told me about the cars never having a emblem or decal like other states.

Re: Southern CA dealership help!!
You guys spooked me into buying that plate frame from Guardian. I been watching it for a while, hoping he would ask for a best offer. Anyway, my car was sold at Guardian. I bought it from the original owner. She had every maintenance receipt, from an oil change to the tired old 307 getting swapped out with a rebuilt one. Here is a copy of the original bill of sale. Not a super car...but its my super car.
