1965 Chevrolet Corvair Convertible Corsa Turbo This 1965 Corvair Corsa Convertible is powered by the optional 180 HP Turbocharged engine and 4- speed manual transmission. Finished in white with a red interior and black convertible top, the car car has 44,155 original miles on the odometer (as of 11/25/13). Additional factory options include, but are not limited to, white sidewall tires, push-button AM radio and rear mounted antenna, tinted windshield, comfort and convenience package, and padded dash. Very rare for 1965 is the optional factory installed deluxe seat belts, front and rear. This car is one of two cars known today with this option to a well known Corvair history expert. There are two options originally sold on the car that were not installed when the car was restored, the spare tire lock, door edge guards, and bumper guards out of preference by the restorer. The car was originally sold in Chicopee, MA to a Colonel in the US Air Force. This Corvair is one of the finest examples you will find. It is a Concours quality automobile. The prior owner was a retired GM executive who had this clean low mileage Corvair fully restored. Everything works as it should and is like new. $29,500.00 Call Danny for more info. 630.377.1222 http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...psacef0750.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...ps08d042d9.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...ps198cb702.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...ps09a21310.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...psc5f8fa70.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...ps6fe4c017.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...psb2b42569.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...ps34fac1e9.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...psec0d4eac.jpg |

Re: 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Convertible Corsa Turbo
Charley had an amazing unrestored low mileage Corvair, which had spent much of it's life in a Museum.

Re: 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Convertible Corsa Turbo
Really, how long ago? I don't recall seeing that one. My friend's neighbor had an Evening Orchid '65 Corsa Turbo sitting untouched in his driveway for many years, but was badly weathered. Would have been a nice one to restore.

Re: 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Convertible Corsa Turbo
We chased down a bit more of the history.
This is a true three owner automobile, not counting us as a dealer. It was purchased new by a retired Air Force, Lieutenant Colonel. He mostly pulled the car behind a motor home. The actual driven mileage was approx 6,000.00 miles. The car was parked in 1976. It was complete with no accidents and no rot and retained most of its original components as well as original drive train. This Corvair was purchased from the Colonel, by a well known Corvair restorer and Corsa executive board member. He completely disassembled the car and restored it, including a drive train rebuild. Not many Corvairs have recieved this level of restoration, attention and care (lots of NOS parts used throughout). He sold the car to a retired GM executive in Arizona and we purchased the car from his wife. We discovered that a copy of the dealer sales invoice exists, along with the original "RL" coded engine and original trim tag with "O" designating the 180 hp Turbo Option. |
