Re: '69 Yenko photo
can you tell me what color the first car in the second row and the 4th car over in the second row are
|
Re: '69 Yenko photo
They look black, but I would say fathom green.
|
Re: '69 Yenko photo
the 5th car in the second row we think is mine. It is the only known Orange, no vinyl top style trim car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...n_img_0870.jpg And it looks like I need a grill emblem.
|
Re: '69 Yenko photo
All cars came to Yenko with the grill emblem. Most, but not all of the cars had the grill emblem removed as well as the tail panel bowtie...BKH

Re: '69 Yenko photo
Your car looks killer with those wheels Charley!

Interesting on-line "color matching" tool located here. Copy the Yenko photo above to your computer, then upload it to that page. Click once anywhere in the photo and it will tell you what color is where you clicked. Most of the 1st car in the second row says Black. But, if you click more toward the upper 1/3rd of the car it has a hard time and shades more to browns/greens. |
Re: '69 Yenko photo
Who has the DY Yenko Chevelle on the carrier, is it Mark Rupps?
Ryan |
Re: '69 Yenko photo
The DY Chevelle on the carrier has a vinyl top. Clearly not Rupps..BKH
|
Re: '69 Yenko photo
Agree, is it known where it is?

Re: '69 Yenko photo
How cool to have a picture of your car when it was at the dealership. That's a rarity.

Re: '69 Yenko photo
On the orange Camaro in front, can you guys tell if it has a vinyl top or not? My car is Hugger Orange, black vinyl top, style trim, and endure bumper. I'm just wondering if this is the same car. And also this car seems to have white stripes, and what looks like white pinstriping, even though the vinyl top (if so equipped) was black.

Any way to identify the cars in these two pics? I know from reading this thread that a couple have been identified. Does any one know the dates the photos were taken? Also are there any other known photos of Yenkos at the dealerships? If so it would be great if we could start a post of Original Yenko photos for historical and viewing pleasure! |
Re: '69 Yenko photo
Charley, I just "learned" something (noticed for the first time) after all of these years. I never knew that any Yenkos had pin stripes along with the Yenko side stripes. And, I'm in agreement with Brian about the blue Bowtir grill emblem being removed. I remember reading that elsewhere some time ago. I'm surprised at myself about those pin stripes.
|
Re: '69 Yenko photo
The pin stripes were only with style trim cars (or RPO D96) - very few Yenkos had style trim.

Wow, is that Nova possibly a 70's clone?! Those stripes are not right.

Notice the Daytona Yellow (2nd. car/2nd. row) with the optional VE3 Endura front bumper... wonder how many of those cars saw the sYc conversion??? SAL |
Re: '69 Yenko photo
Nice. I bet that thing rode like a brick! I had Schonye put some wide rims on a deuce he restored for me a while back, and they had to come right back off. It was torture. :)Does the Citrus deuce still live? Reminds me of the vintage pic of Ron Normans deuce he sold.

Re: '69 Yenko photo
I would think that all the Yenko 9561 COPO Camaros were sold as Yenko Super Camaros.

Surely L72 Camaro buyers were there who liked and wanted the sedate look...and with a lot full of 'em he'd sell them one! ~ Pete |
Re: '69 Yenko photo
There was at least one car sold minus stripes per the Yenko inventory sheets..BKH
|
Re: '69 Yenko photo
It was still a Yenko Super Camaro even without the stripes.

Re: '69 Yenko photo
Agree 100%..BKH

Ok...mee tooo! But I still want to hear more of what's known about the plain car! ~ Pete |
Re: '69 Yenko photo
Was Yenko already closed by the time the EPA declared the property dangerous? If Yenko was still open, what became of the cars in the yard? Did the EPA really make Yenko destroy all the cars?

Re: '69 Yenko photo
Cool!
(Picture posting was made easier thanks to Charley!) |
Re: '69 Yenko photo
even when the stripe kit was installed, they didn't always use the complete set.
have seen original pics with the hood arrow missing or the sYc missing from the headrests |

I've posted these before. No hood stripe, no Yenko SC on the quarters, no Yenko or 427 badge on a very real car.
