67 chevelle build sheets?

I have had quite a few 67 chevelles built in all the plants and always found a paper build card under the rear seat area listing interior, color etc,has anyone ever seen a kansas built car with the build sheets (full body broadcast)stuck to the inner front fenders?I have seen it on 69 cars but never a 67?thanks

The only thing I found in my 1967 Kansas City built Tripoli Turqiose ? SS-396 / 350 M-20 car was a rectangle IBM punch card in the back seat listing the option codes it had. It was a second week of November 1966 car

Thats exactly all i ever found in these cars, but i just purchased a survivor 67 ss 396 car that has never been molested or apart and both front fenders still have a build sheet glued inside them and they look like a 69 type broadcast or chassis sheets..

Scott,

My 69 Chevelle (also built in KC) had the same thing, one stuck to the inside of each front fender. I slid a long slim piece of sheet metal in and got them both off.....they were glued on in only one little spot right in the center of the sheet.

The note about rebroadcasting the build information is interesting...

Is there a way to decipher the punched out IBM type of card found under a seat?

Not really. You would need to know the codes that Chevrolet used back in the day to be able to decipher it.

----What do the pundits say about paperwork on a 67 Fremont built El Camino? This car has had some resto done before I bought it but something may be glued somewhere......Bill S

Can you post a pic?

For Pontiac division the punches on the IBM card (Billing History) correspond with the Group 5 option codes on the build sheet and the order blank. Those boxes provide a nice description of the option content.

Does the card use "Group 5" designations, or UPC/FNA naming like we use today?
