Re: Fan Clutch R & R
Amazing, looks way better than the NOS pieces that I have seen!!! Can you tell that it has been taken apart at all? I was getting ready to send one of my original Eaton fan clutches to Kirk, but was trying to figure out if you can tell that the front plate was removed and welded/ brazed back on.

Re: Fan Clutch R & R
Mark,
Thanks for the tip regarding Kirkconnell fan clutch rebuilding srevice. Just last week I was looking for places to send 2 fan clutches to be restored. Looks like I have found the best place. Dave |
Re: Fan Clutch R & R
Is that spot on the face (next to the "Z") acceptable?

It is only the process to repair the original crimped down lip which is either broken or fractured when disassembling the units. |

Re: Fan Clutch R & R
Mine was $270.00 because he performed a 'shaftectomy' on it. He installed the short shaft.

Mike, basically is. Mark - correct me if I miss speak for your application, but at least on the units he's done for me, I've sent small block original clutches and he rebuilds them as original appearing big block units. Passes judging 10 of 10 times! Dan |
Re: Fan Clutch R & R
OK,
Let me get this straight, so I can send a small block 7 1/4" Eaton to this couple and for $ 270 they will send me back a short shaft 2 5/8" CZ? Please forward their contact info to me please. Thank you I am still looking for a good original/NOS Eaton or Schwitzer CZ if anyone has a spare around-Please let me know. |
Re: Fan Clutch R & R
Mine was a CV that I purchased from a member here.
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbthrea...ch_C#Post526635 I sent it to Dan and he restored it with a short shaft and stamped it with the date and CZ. This is the first non-Corvette clutch I've sent him but, as you can see, he does great work. I have had zero problems with the ones he did for me that have been placed back into service.
