Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
It wasn't easy, but I managed to convert the photos into a jpg format to post them (no I'm not a computer guy).
Here are a few of Stefano's pics... http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps8c0703f7.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps37ff611e.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps15602715.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps2bbb3418.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps625e0689.jpg |
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
What a gorgeous car and color!
If the future owner wants a nice compliment, I'll sell my Carolina Blue survivor for the same price to make a perfect bookend... http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...Chevelle_b.jpg |
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
Thanks for the help. Still working on it on this end.

Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
Is this the car you worked on Patton?
|
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
Yes - this one looks familiar! :)
|
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
Then this has the famous gas tank pad that is the buzz of the car world.
|
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
----You cant make a statement like that without a bit more info, ya know! Apparently, it wasnt the entire car world. No buzzing going on up here in Marine City, MI.......Bill S

Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
My decoder ring isn't working. What are you guys talking about? You can't even see the gas tank pad?
|
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
Man - We're all getting old and it's getting harder to see stuff but...IT'S RIGHT THERE IN THE PICS (ALL CAPS FOR THE "HARD OF SEEING" :)
That would be Gas Tank Pad #1!!! It did its job at the OCA Nats I have more pics showing that one but can't seem to get any loaded on this site...anyway, it's not my ad....it's Stefano's. |
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
4th pic down. Nice pics, BTW, of a cool car.
|
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
My point is that it's under the car and on top of the gas tank. The majority of it is not visible. What's the big deal?
|
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
Is that Diego's old car?
|
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
Not Diegos, I think this is/was owned by Tom Lembeck of Chicago.
|
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
Still does own it!! cool car!
|
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
W30 is sold pending payment.
|
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
I've used 3 of the famous gas tank pads! None better.

Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
I just got a link today from my buddy Ron McHugh on a special collection at this year's MCACN. At the risk of someone thinking I'm "hijacking" this thread, please let me finish----the link was to the "Documented W-30 Convertible 4-Speeds" to be shown together this coming November. I can only imagine such a showing!!! Ron's car will be in attendance along with the car formerly belonging to Lee Pearl, and several others including at least one unrestored original. Will the car discussed in this thread be at that show? I certainly would think that if Stefano is associated with it, the documentation has to be bullet-proof. Stefano's reputation, as far as I know, is extremely reliable and well respected in this hobby. I have yet to hear anything to the contrary regarding him, his cars, and/or his descriptions of the cars he has to offer. This car would seem to be a "shoe-in" for the special collection should the new owner be interested in displaying his recently acquired purchase. Or, perhaps Stefano could show the car on the new owner's behalf if he/she decides to remain anonymous.
I was just telling my wife today about this year's show and this GREAT collection of amazing Oldsmobiles......Once again, however, the show falls on the same weekend as our (my wife and myself) annual Caribbean Cruise. I have explained in several other threads that my wife is ABSOLUTELY the BEST, and she is SO GOOD about my "Muscle Car Habit", that I couldn't bring myself to ask her to change our yearly tropical vacation so that I may attend yet another car event. I would be interested in knowing the production stats regarding the car discussed here. I'm betting it to be a "1 of 1". The Azure Blue is quite rare in itself, and combining it with the W-30 package AND the convertible, AND the 4-speed has to make it pretty special. What a car!!! |
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
Dave,
Thanks for the "Kind" words. This W-30 is one of the 96 built. The car and the owner have been invited to the W-Machine display at MCACN. |
Re: 1970 Oldsmobile W-30 Convertible
This W-30 is back on the market.
The buyer changed his mind. |
