Be worth more if it could get together with this... http://www.rkmotorscharlotte.com/sales/inventory/new_arrival/1969-Chevrolet-Camaro-ZL1/132320#!/ |
Re: Camaro ZL1 #62 going across the block
Does the engine in the RK Motors car belong to #62?

Re: Camaro ZL1 #62 going across the block
Yup,

Re: Camaro ZL1 #62 going across the block
The pair could make a great clone and a great original car.

Someday. Ryan </div></div> One can't reach full potential without it, And the other would be worth nothing without the engine. |
Re: Camaro ZL1 #62 going across the block
What a shame these guys couldn't get together and work out some kind of deal to reunite the motor to the car.
|
Re: Camaro ZL1 #62 going across the block
The owner of the real ZL1 needs to buy the clone, do an engine swap and solve the problem. My 66 W30 has the engine from car #27. The owner of car 27 wants the original engine: Solution buy the car and do the swap.

Great looking color combo.
It's clone,holding it's engine. <object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/d0w45md1Lh0"></param> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param> <embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/d0w45md1Lh0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"> </embed></object> |
Re: Camaro ZL1 #62 going across the block
yea Paul, it looks wrinkled up. I guess a reflection.

Re: Camaro ZL1 #62 going across the block
Any real car guy would try a strike a deal to reunite an original engine with the original car. Holding an engine hostage is just BS. I went through this when I found the original motor for my LS6. Alot of greedy, money hungry people out there that hurt the hobby more than they help it.

Re: Camaro ZL1 #62 going across the block
I have found a few Muncie transmissions and was able to match them with a car with just a google search of the vin. Never once did I hold them hostage. I would rather see them reunited with the car!

"Rounding out the top 10 sales at the auction were a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with a known ownership record and COPO Connection documentation, which sold for $530,000."
Pretty good money for this one.... |

Agreed! I'm in a similar boat on another matter. May I ask what would be a fair way of determining a value for an original matching born-with motor? For starters... I would say its more than the value of the motor as a dated core (to be fair to the seller of the motor), and less than the value the matching motor adds to the car (to be fair to the owner of the car). Just how much does a born-with motor add to the value of a rare car? |
