Vintage Certification Program @ MCACN
Vintage Certification is again proud and excited to be a part of the MCACN experience. This is a must attend event. Come Join Us and have your car Vintage Certified at MCACN Nov 23rd & 24th in Chicago
Vintage Certification™ is a judging program whose sole purpose is to recognize, provide status, provenance, and promote un-restored (survivor) vehicles. We believe it is the only program that focuses on documenting and benchmarking these cars. Our core certification team consists of Brett Merryman, Chris White, John Karvonen, Frank Badalson, Roger Gibson, Steve Shauger and other marque specialists based on make and model. Each core team member possesses over 30 years experience as restorers, collectors, historians and judges in the hobby. Typically we spend 3hrs examining in detail every segment of your car including on a lift. The MCACN show http://www.mcacn.com is the perfect venue to have your vehicle certified. You will be among and exclusive group of enthusiast who participate in this new exciting event. We understand not every original car is 100% untouched, and we offer four levels of certification, based on the originality of the Vehicle. Vintage Certifications™ levels are divided into four divisions: Vintage Legend - Cars that are 85% unrestored or better in all reference areas. Vintage Heritage - Vehicles that are 85+% unrestored in four reference areas. Vintage Legacy - Cars that are 85% unrestored or better in three out of five reference areas. Vintage Reference - Cars that are 85% unrestored in at least one reference area. Reference Areas: Certification consists of two areas of consideration, Originality and Preservation. Reference areas are as follows: • Engine Compartment Area • Exterior Body • Interior Body • Underbody • Trunk This is Vintage Certification™ 15th year and we continuing to expand and educate enthusiast on factory standards. Below is a preliminary list of vehicles to be certified. Again we have only two certification opening available, so to ensure your Vintage Certification participationcertifiplease contact us ASAP because we only accept a maximum of 9 cars per event. For those who have unrestored cars and want to display their cars we have a display only area (non judged) exclusively for unrestored cars "Vintage Heritage Collection". Having a display area for unrestored cars allows owners of like cars to be displayed together and recognized collectively. Visit our webpage http://www.mcacn.com/vintagecert.htm for more information such as our Mission Statement http://www.mcacn.com/VintageLegendMissionStatement.pdf and Application http://www.mcacn.com/VintageCertific...pplication.pdf If you have any questions email us at or call me, Steve Shauger @(631) 514-9765. It is truly amazing the jewels of information that can be learned from these benchmark cars. Re: Vintage Certification Program @ MCACN
Well its dusk blue, m22, 373 gears, with 47K miles. Oh btw we just registered a 64 GTO tripower with 8k miles. We are actually over booked (long days and nights certifying), but I just couldn't turn down this iconic muscle car that started it all. This is going to be one heck of a show, and those interested in our program or any specific car, stop by the Vintage Certification section. We are easy to spot since we have the only lift at the show.

Re: Vintage Certification Program @ MCACN
Wow - what a great line-up of muscle!

Thanks Bruce. Looks like we may have another surprise, an ultra low mileage(43 miles) 67 Chevelle SS in our Heritage display. BTW anyone who has an unrestored car and would like to bring their car we have a few slots open in our Heritage Display but they are filling up quickly. |

Re: Vintage Certification Program @ MCACN
I want to thank everyone involved for their tireless effort which makes this show successful. Although this is our fifth year it seems like the first because of all the new and exciting themes and showcases, year after year. The buzz around the whole event is intoxicating and creates energy that is contagious. This is no easy task or you would see many events like it, and its the only one that continually raises the bar. The quality of the cars is amazing and the car owners, restorers and sponsors make the event come a live.
Regarding Vintage, we were provided the perfect location to spotlight these time capsules. The participants in our program are terrific caretakers of these unrestored benchmark cars. The owners were very satisfied and appreciative of our teams thoroughness and energy, as each car was examined for 3-4 hours. Vehicle, Certification Awarded, Owner 1954 Corvette- Legacy- Dominic Rossi 1965 Corvette- Legend- Larry Sachs 1973 Z28- Legend- Mark Bulaw 1970 Challenger TA- Legend- Frank Teuton 1969 Chevelle SS L78- Legacy- Jason Boe 1978 Little Red Express- Legend- Darren Nickerson 1972 Trans Am- Legend- Doug Trotter 1979 Little Red Express- Legend- Ed Bohrer 1964 GTO Tri-Power- Legend- Joe Demesey 1967 Chevelle SS with fact 488's- Legend- Jeff Helms 1970 Challenger Convertible- Legend- Richard Heidbreder Heritage Display Collection: 1969 L89 Camaro 1969 Z28 (previously Vintage Certified) 1968 Chevelle SS L78 1969 RS/SS Camaro 396 1966 Chevelle SS L78 Judging Team MCACN 2013: Frank Badalson Tom Ballard Roger Gibson John Karvonen Larry Kraut Brett Merryman & Sons Jim Rhinehart Alex Sahely Steve Shauger Chris White |

Re: Vintage Certification Program @ MCACN
We are already lining up cars for the Vintage Certification program for MCACN 2014, November 22-23.
Confirmed already are a 1966 Black Chevelle SS L78, (thanks Jacquie!) and a 1978 Corvette L82 Pace Car. We have several others pending... The judging procedures for this are so intense, and require specific marque judges, so if you are considering joining us, please contact Steve Shauger to lock in your spot asap. We completely sold out in both 2012 and 2013 and are sure to be sold out even sooner this year. Special thanks go out to Thielsen Enterprises, our Official Lift Supplier for their continued support. Thanks! Bashton MCACN Managing Member |

Exciting stuff Bob. (Can't wait)

Re: Vintage Certification Program @ MCACN
Bob, you will love the 66. Glenn told me about it at Barrett-Jackson and Jacquie shared the pics....It's awesome!

Re: Vintage Certification Program @ MCACN
The site is coming along very nicely Steve. It loads very slowly for me, but that might be my computer. It (and I) is/am getting slower all the time!
If you have any sign-ups for a '58-'64 full size Chevy, I'd love to be a part of the team. I have a special affection for original cars. Verne |

The list of participants for Vintage Certification is really shaping. Amazingly it looks like we will have 3 1966 Chevelle L78 survivors.
