Tony,
One of my all time favorite L78 Chevelles Best of luck with the sale, hope she finds another great keeper/owner. Have you considered bringing her to NOCC.....there will be 43 (As of today) 1969 Chevelle`s in attendance. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...l_Chevlle_Show http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=395001 I`m certain....there will be many 1969 Chevelle enthusiasts that would love to own your Chevelle at the NOCC....hope to see you there. Some days I feel its not worth the bother to try and sell something. </div></div> I was at a small car/bike show last Sat. I see a nice old Harley with a sice-car attached. I go over and have small talk with the owner. I tell him that I have two 1940s Goulding side-cars that I would sell for 5 grand. He gets all excited, says his buddy has been looking for one. His buddy came over Monday, looks at them, and offers me 3 grand. I not so politely told him to GTFO and don't ever come back. The side-cars are worth over 3 grand each, and he damn well knows it. Once again, I hate most people. |
Re: 69 L78 Chevelle, original, unrestored except paint
Hey TDW (Tony) I feel your pain. About 8 or so years ago, I made a handshake deal on two cars, (one was mine, the other was a good friend's) with the owner of a certain large auction house. His buyer looked the cars over for hours, we agreed on a price for the pair, and shook hands with a phone confirmation form the auction house owner. Well, Sunday morning the car hauler shows up with two checks for $30k less than we agreed to---$15,000 per car. Needless to say, I told him to GTFO!!! I ended up paying my friend the agreed upon price for his car because that's how sure I thought the deal was. I didn't want his car, but I am a man of my word---unlike the person I refer to above.

Re: 69 L78 Chevelle, original, unrestored except paint
Due to the emails and requests for the MacNeish Certified document, it has been added to the listing.

Bill, I think almost everyone that inquired about the car watchs those shows, along with "Counting Cars" and "Ass-Monkey Garage". When i get some time, I'm going to do a "rant" about some of these guys that wanted the car. |
Re: 69 L78 Chevelle, original, unrestored except paint
I pointed a guy named Joe from Ft. Lauderdale your direction, he was looking for a L78 for his dad. Did it go to Florida?

Tony,
The Chevelle arrived safe and sound this morning. Looks and drives spectacular. Very happy, thanks so much for working with me on the purchase and being so patient. The paint is perfect, better than I expected. Diablo gives it two paws up. Thanks again!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-img_3181.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-img_3179.jpg |

Congrats Dave. How long before you have slots on it??
|
Re: 69 L78 Chevelle, original, unrestored except paint
I got slots, cragers, Torq Thrusts, SS wheels, complete set coincidentally perfect date for the car, with Goodyear poliglass's. Not sure what to do.
|
Re: 69 L78 Chevelle, original, unrestored except paint
Put the slots on it so it matches the old picture.
