Re: Grumpys Toys
#7 in the foreground, basically just a show car, note the lack of roll bar, etc...

Re: Grumpys Toys
That is a great picture. I have heard that the no.7 car was a show-only car and was given back to the dealership when the season ended. I guess it was Ammon R. Smith. I wonder where it is today??????

Re: Grumpys Toys

Re: Grumpys Toys
I have that hood from Grumpy Toy VII 70 Camaro show/street car. I bought it from the Grump and he gave me a letter documenting that it is a steel prototype 1970 cowl induction hood from Chevy engineering. Grump saw it on a visit to Chevy and they were going to scrap it so they sent it to Bill to use on the show/street car. Bill removed it before returning the car.
He said he needed the VII to meet all the promo dates and events that the the race car could not attend. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: 69belair</div><div class="ubbcode-body">another shot of the #7 show car... http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o..._5045969_n.jpg </div></div> |
Re: Grumpys Toys
Joe, Bill's guys were telling me about that hood not too long ago. Got a pic of it today? Sure sounds cool!

Re: Grumpys Toys
the hood looks the same as when on the car, original white paint and black stripe
it is very well made using a stock hood and looks like the top of a 69 cowl hood and hand made parts to look like a L88 hood http://i610.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/GRUPHOOD.jpg |
Re: Grumpys Toys
Very cool story and WoW that you have the hood now!
Love to see a current shot of it, is it wall art or on a car? ~ Pete |
Re: Grumpys Toys
Does anyone know if VII is known or accounted for?
No racing history, but would still be a killer find. |
