Garage Found 65 GT-350, With 6452 Original Miles
The subject line is correct, a garage found 65 GT-350 Shelby with 6452 documented original miles on it. 800 of them miles are believed to be driven. The rest of the miles are believed to be towed to the track milesSet a NHRA 1/4 miles record of 12.32. The car was raced in California in 66-67,. and has been parked the rest of it life. Original paint, original over spray here and there, interior looks like new. Car was bought and taken straight to performance associates and modified then raced. It is now in Alberta sitting in a friends garage. Sounds pretty awesome when he fired it up today. The car will be featured in mustang monthly, as the photo shooting has been completed. My friend would sure like to find some original pictures of this car at the race track, can anybody help out? Charlie, do you know anyone that may have been at any of the Cali tracks in 66 or 67, any help would be greatly appreciated. Will get the plate number tomorrow, but believe it was a Cali black plate ending in 409. I will add some more details tomorrow. Would someone kindly post photo's for me? I will forward them to the helper in the am. Thanks

Re: Garage Found 65 GT-350, With 6452 Original Miles
Any part of this car that was modified by performance associates was saved. So when my buddy picked up the car, he received a number of boxes of original parts off the car. The car will be left as you see it, in race form as it was when it got parked in 67. It will be attending local car shows, and will be trailered to any events that it goes to. I believe it will be going to California for a judging event in the near future.
So does anybody have any ideas where or whom to contact to see if any race track pictures can be located?? Your help, hints, leads are appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Amazing find, just amazing! Would love to see more pictures.
Darcy, if you manage to locate a source of vintage California race photos, I would be very interested to know about it. I have an ex-E/MP car that was a regular at Lion's (Los Angeles) from 69 to 72, and it competed at the final race meet there in December '72. Still hunting high and low for any period pictures from Lion's that might include my car....... |

Highly recommended and I've loaned it to people that aren't even drag racing fans that loved it! |

No, unfortunately I haven't. A friend in the US offered to send me the DVD, but we have a different region coding here, so it wouldn't work. That said, I think my new pc may be able to read any region code, so will look into it further - thanks! (sorry if I hijacked this thread....) |
Re: Garage Found 65 GT-350, With 6452 Original Miles
I don't understand. Do DVDs spin the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere?

No, you're thinking of the way water turns after you pull the plug....... DVDs have different region encoding depending where you live in the world: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code DVD players in one region cannot play discs from another (without getting the firmware hacked by a teenager ) |

I'm never surprised by what some folk think happens to normality outside their home country |
