Owen and Eric Simpson just called to let me know that their dad Peter, passed away moments ago after succumbing to complications from surgery. I'm at a loss for words right now but please include them and their mom Vicky in your prayers. RIP Peter....I've been blessed to have had you as a great friend.

This is terrible news. I've only knew Pete from this forum and loved to read his adventures. Ir was clear he was one of the good guys and loved by all who knew him. Pete and family will be in my prayers.

Very sad to see this. I always respected the man because he was more of a drag racer than a show car guy and had no qualms about running his several valuable cars full throttle down the drag strip!

Wow - I met Pete at SCR 14 and like everyone else has said - he talked to me like we knew each other for years. Great guy - what a loss.

My prayers and condolences to the Simpson family. Just sold Pete a survivor '70 power steering pump with 1105DD pulley for the Deuce, seems just before he went into hospital. I hope it finds its way on the car. And I hope there are lots of COPOs wherever he is now. Bet he's challenging Ronnie Sox to a 4-speed duel right now. Godspeed buddy.

While I never met him, I could tell he was a 'good guy'. I remember the theft and recovery of his Camaro, and was elated when he got it back. I'm sorry to hear this news, and my condolences go to his family.
