Holly's Heart transplant Anniversary on Nov. 15th
 

Hi all...Holly's heart transplant anniversary is coming up on November 15th (coincidentally the same day that we meet with the surgeons about her upcoming kidney transplant).

We were searching through some boxes and came across some stuff that we thought that we'd lost. This talks about the little girl who died, so that Holly could live. We were sitting in the Del Taco in Loma Linda, the day after Holly was transplanted-and came across this article. (They have great surgeons there...but their food left a lot to be desired...LOL)

We knew that Holly Blythe's heart came from a 4 year old...and also knew that it came from the Pasadena area...so we put two and two together and took this article in to the surgeons who confirmed that this was the girl who donated...so that many (including Holly) could live. I cried as I re-read this....

This is about the Orange city Fire Fighters that saved Holly's life so that she could have her transplant. We are forever indebted to them....

And a few of a cute little girl...LOL. The second pic is Holly's Halloween costume from 1992. The third pic is with the Orange City Council and Jackie Speier, who authored the Ca. Kids plated Bill....which resulted in them being made available. She wanted to know the story behind why we wanted the plate that we did...so when she found out why, she came out to our house and presented us with a mock up of it...and then invited us to tour the capital in Sacramento [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif[/img]

Well...some GREAT news. We met with the doctors and Holly's kidneys are functioning better..so for now, she's off the transplant list [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif[/img]

She will still be closely moitored, and a transplant is inevitable...but for now...life is good.

This will be a great Thanksgiving...just like it was 22 years ago...and since [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif[/img]
